🚗 Going the Extra Mile (and Back!) 🐾

A massive shout-out and thank you to the incredible team at Sasol Mafikeng CBD!

On Sunday, Inspector Mpho Matlhabegoane traveled back to her old stomping grounds in Mahikeng to attend court proceedings yesterday for one of her older cases. Ensuring justice for animals often means long hours and traveling great distances, but our team always sees it through.

A journey like this takes a village, and we have some wonderful people to thank for making it happen:

Sasol Mahikeng: Who generously donated a full tank of diesel for Inspector Mpho’s journey back to Kimberley. Your kindness ensured that Inspector Mpho was able to fulfill her responsibilities! ⛽️ Your Sect 18 A receipt is on its way 😁

Inspector Mario van der Westhuizen: Who kindly loaned his vehicle to Mpho while her vehicle was in the shop for diff repairs. Talk about team spirit! 🤝

🐾 FROM THEFT TO TRIUMPH! 🐾

When we discovered our dog trailers' wheels had been stolen, our hearts sank. It's tough when an organization dedicated to helping vulnerable animals is targeted. But our incredible community reminded us that kindness always wins!

We have some massive, heartfelt thank yous to send out today:
1️⃣ Coastal Tool Hire & Tyres 360: HUGE thanks to these amazing teams who rushed to our rescue and sorted us out with brand-new wheels! Our trailers are officially back on the road. 🛞💨
2️⃣ Our Two Anonymous Donors:To the wonderful people who dropped funds into our account first thing this morning—thanks to your generosity, we can now replace the stolen spare wheel too!

To everyone who shared our plight, sent kind words, or offered support: THANK YOU. You turned a terrible situation into a beautiful reminder of local spirit.

We are fully mobile and back to doing what we do best for the animals! 🐕❤️

A special thanks also goes out to our dedicated staff and committee, who immediately sprang into action and made alternative parking arrangements. To prevent any further incidents, our trailers will now be safely stored in an undisclosed, secure location. 🔒

💔 DEVASTATING SETBACK FOR OUR ANIMALS 💔

Last night, someone entered the Kimberley SPCA / DBV premises and stole all the wheels off both of our dog trailers.

We are absolutely heartbroken, frustrated, and angry. It is becoming increasingly difficult to protect and assist the vulnerable animals in our community when our own facility is targeted by criminals who think they can just come and take what does not belong to them.

Those trailers are our lifelines. Without them, our ability to respond to emergencies, rescue animals in distress, and transport them to safety is severely compromised. By stealing from us, these culprits didn't just take pieces of metal or tyre—they took away a vital tool used to save lives.

We need YOUR help, Kimberley.
Somewhere, someone knows who did this. Somewhere, someone has been offered these wheels for sale.
• To the community: If you saw any suspicious activity around the SPCA last night, or if you hear anyone bragging about or trying to sell trailer wheels, please speak up.
• To the person who bought them: You might not have known they were stolen from a charity at the time, but you know now. Please do the right thing and help us get them back.
