The Kimberley SPCA Dog Park will be open to the public who become members.

The park is intended to provide a safe space for dogs to run free, while their owners can sit back and enjoy the scenery.

The Kimberley SPCA / DBV staff will be attending a Staff Wellness Workshop on Thursday, 21 August, from 12h00 - 15h00.

🐾 Please note that our office and facility will be closed to the public from 12h00 - 15h00 on Thursday, 21 August 2025.

We will be available for emergencies only on 082 376 7679.

We appreciate your understanding as we invest in the wellbeing of our team so we can serve our animals and community even better 💚

✝️ In Loving Memory of Warren Beattie ✝️

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Warren Beattie. Warren served the Kimberley SPCA with dedication and compassion as Vice-Chairman of our Management Committee and as a committed member of the Society. His love for animals was evident in every aspect of his life, especially in the time he shared with his beloved dog, Ben, on their nearly daily visits to the Dog Park. Warren’s quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering support for animal welfare will be dearly missed. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Warren. Your care and commitment will not be forgotten.

‼️ WATER FOR FREE ‼️

From tomorrow, Friday 30 May 2025, Kimberley SPCA / DBV is offering water free of charge at our facility to those households in need thereof during the water shutdown.

1️⃣ Please bring your own containers.
2️⃣ Please ensure the tank taps are properly closed between and after use.
3️⃣ Water can be collected 08h30 - 12h00 & 13h00 - 16h30 on weekdays & 08h30 - 12h00 on Saturday.
4️⃣ Regrettably we cannot fill JoJo tanks that are mounted onto vehicles unless prior arrangements have been made

While the water is offered free of charge, we have a collection tin available for any cash donations you might want to make 💙

🦺KENNEL RENOVATION PROJECT🦺

After months of careful planning and budgeting, we are pleased to share that renovations and repairs to Kimberley SPCA / DBV's aging kennel facilities are now underway. Currently, two blocks of cat kennels and one block of dog kennels are undergoing refurbishment. Once these have been completed, we will proceed with upgrades to the remaining kennel blocks.

We are sharing this update for three important reasons:
1. To kindly request that visitors exercise caution and closely follow all instructions from our office during this period of construction.
2. To appeal to our generous supporters for contributions towards this vital maintenance project.
3. To extend our heartfelt gratitude to the kennel sponsors who have already made valuable contributions.

This will allow our staff to peruse applications and make sure that the applicant (and their dogs) complies with the terms of use of the Kimberley SPCA Dog Park.

The Kimberley SPCA Dog Park is not a traditional dog park. It is meant to give dog owners the opportunity to have their dogs run free in a safe space, without the risk of other strange dogs being present.

✝️ In Loving Memory of Chantal McMillan ✝️

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Chantal McMillan.

Chantal dedicated her life to the welfare of animals, and her contributions to the Kimberley SPCA were invaluable. She tirelessly cared for countless animals in need. Her compassion and dedication were an inspiration to us all.

Chantal will be deeply missed by her colleagues, friends, and the entire Kimberley SPCA community.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to her husband, Clive, and to her family & friends during this difficult time.

🥶 WINTER WONDERLAND 🥶

We were met by a winter wonderland this morning.

Temperatures dropped waaay below freezing. If you have pets or animals that spend extended periods of time outside, please make sure that they have sufficient shelter from the extreme cold.
