Winter kittens - this can be a challenge for even the most experienced breeders. BonBon my brown bi-color tabby kinkalow had 4 beautiful kittens this morning, she is almost 2 and this is her first kittens. As she has been going into heat for some time I could not hold off on breeding her, I was hoping to get her to deliver with another girl that had kittens before, but that didn't pan out unfortunately. Now I have to ensure that I give her the best chance to keep her kittens happy and alive 🙏🏻. Keeping the temperature constant will be the most challenging thing. Her kittens are small at a range between 52g to 72g 🤦🏻. With the first litter they can be smaller. I have enclosed her nest totally with a blanket to retain heat, this will help her with keeping her kittens warm as well as the heating pad under the bedding they are sleeping on. I will weigh them every day to ensure they are gaining weight. We will need your good wishes also 🙏🏻. I will keep everyone updated on how they are doing. Thank you to all of you ❣️
