Concerned residents reported a dog being restrained on a short chain to the uMngeni SPCA. No-one was home on the first inspection so Trainee Field Officer Sandile Mbhense left a Notice to Comply on the property. He returned two days later to do a welfare check and found the owner at home.
Sandile was pleased to find the dog roaming free, fresh water in place, food in a bowl and a comfortable kennel to shelter in at night. The only remaining concern was the inadequacy of the fencing. KJ Fencing, a local good Samaritan, organised and paid for the fence to be upgraded and covered the dogโs sterilisation and vaccination costs at our uMngeni Veterinary clinic. Our caring community is simply the best!
