𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗠𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗶 𝗦𝗣𝗖𝗔 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵-𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗮🐾💙

This week the team spent a day in Cedara’s semi-rural village, co-ordinated by the area's Ward Councillor (DA) Kate Janse van Rensburg. Trainee Field Officer Sandile Mbhense explained, “All the water containers were very dirty. None of the community members were aware of the importance of providing clean water daily to all their animals. We led by example and helped to clean all the water vessels and fill them up with clean water.”

Our resident Community Services Vet Dr. Hoffman health-checked a variety of domestic and farm animals, and administered Rabies vaccinations to thirteen dogs and two cats. The team left feeling that the day had been well spent improving the lives of all the animals in the village.

This Hilton high school raises the bar when 1000 Paws time swings around! Their massive tin collection is a great boost for our endeavour and to top it off, the .college families have collected to donate piles of useful items.

Join us at 𝗧𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗛𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗸, tomorrow for the 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 & 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 — a relaxed, family-friendly way to enjoy the Youth Day public holiday.

Hosted by the Royal Agricultural Society and the KZN Bee Farmers Association, the festival brings together honey, crafts, traditional skills, local makers, food, refreshments and entertainment under one roof.

Browse the honey stalls, discover mead and braggot, learn more about apitherapy, and enjoy displays and sales featuring quilting, embroidery, wool, woodwork, floriate, cake icing and the Women’s Institute. There will also be a children’s art competition and plenty for families to explore.

𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹’𝘀 𝟭𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗮𝘄𝘀 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗣𝗖𝗔’𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗼𝗴’𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱!🐶🐾💙

Hundreds of pairs of people feet and dog paws came along to enjoy a meet, greet, walk, play and compete last Sunday, in the 17th annual Hill’s 1000 Paws Walk for SPCAs. Again, Highgate Wine Estate generously hosted the day by on their magnificent grounds on a perfect sunny winter’s day. Fund-raising began weeks ago with raffle tickets offering luxury getaways donated by three fabulous venues as the top three draw prizes. Schools ran a donation tin drive. Venue and competition entry fees on the day also contributed to the fund-raising pool. Proceeds will be equally shared amongst the three SPCAs that protect the animals in our area: the Mooi River & District, uMngeni, and Pietermaritzburg branches.

𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 ‘𝗣𝗮𝘄-𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲” 𝘁-𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀; 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗚𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝟬𝟴𝟮 𝟳𝟳𝟮 𝟵𝟯𝟭𝟬 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲.
