A note from Marcelle…
Dear Animal Friends,
In March, I shared the heartbreaking news that our main funder will not be renewing their grant in December, leaving Mdzananda with a R250 000 per month deficit.
With our last appeal, we reached 53% of our target. But we still need 1,185 more Paw Supporters, each donating R100 per month, to help us survive this loss.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has already signed up, and to one very generous individual who has committed a substantial amount each month. Now, we are asking YOU to be part of the final rescue.
As the only animal clinic and shelter in Khayelitsha, approximately 300,000 companion animals rely on us. Without our services, many would live with untreated pain or face a devastating future.
In my 13 years at Mdzananda, I have watched us grow from a handful of refurbished shipping containers into a fully-fledged hospital. We have:
🐾 Launched two mobile clinic fleets
🐾 Expanded our ambulance service
🐾 Built a homeless dog shelter and cattery
🐾 Rebuilt and expanded our operating theatre
🐾 Launched education programmes in the community and schools
I have explored every avenue possible to keep up with this growth and pursued every funding opportunity I could find.
But now, my only hope is you.
If 1,185 more animal lovers sign up to donate a minimum of R100 per month, we can cover this deficit and ensure Mdzananda continues providing life-saving veterinary care to thousands of animals in need.
