It has been a while since I have had the time to post anything on Facebook really, other than sharing the occasional link, clicking a like or maybe typing a quick comment. Mainly because this year has been devoted to nursing cats back to health - first little Caspian had his ears sunburnt to crisps when we flew him home from Cape Town and then my little blue cheese cat - Órfhlaith Esmeray, (Yes, you are meant to struggle through her name, no I am not sorry) decided to test her mommy's nerves by failing her trapeze act and nearly losing her eye. Hourly drops are not fun and neither is the pain and suffering this little lady has been through with the surgery and recovery. But thanks to the wonderful doctors at JHB Animal Eye Hospital, she is right as rain now and has perfect vision to practice for her next stunt!
Despite all of the action that has been going on behind the scenes, this little lady has still performed exceptionally well at the shows that she did manage to attend. So much so that she qualified for the SACC Cat of the Year, which will be hosted at the Fairway Hotel in Randburg on 26 July. I am super excited, as this little bluecheese angel is also the only Sphynx at COTY this year, so she has a big burden on her little shoulders to represent our beloved breed in the top show of the SACC season!
Not only did she qualify for SACC's top show of the year, but we also recently got the invitation to the first SA Indie Cat show, which is going to be held in Somerset West in August. (With honorable mentions to her older brother Orion and sister Zefira who both also qualified for Indie Cat.)
All-in-all, it has been a wild ride of a show year and I am very grateful that this bout of "excitement" is finally behind us.
On to new adventures!
