Pet owners Arizona Game & Fish Department made a recent post regarding increased cases in distemper in wildlife. Here is a few ways you can keep your pet(s) safe:
**Ensure your dog is up to date on their distemper vaccination
**Avoid allowing your pet to interact with wildlife or unknown dogs
**Report any suspicious wildlife behavior to your local animal control authority

If you're unsure of your dog’s vaccination status please contact us as soon as possible. We’re here to help keep your pet safe and healthy.

Important notice for dog owners! 🚨 We've received an increased number of reports in recent weeks of sick or disoriented coyotes within residential neighborhoods, parks and green spaces.

Laboratory testing confirmed the diagnosis of canine distemper, a highly contagious and often fatal viral disease that affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems of both domestic and wild animals, primarily canids.

So how can you protect your pets?

🐕 Keep pets up-to-date on vaccinations
🐕 Avoid feeding or handling wildlife
🐕 Supervise pets outdoors, especially near areas with wildlife

🔥Hot Asphalt Can Burn Your Dogs Paws!🔥

Did you know that on a 77* day, asphalt can reach 125* - hot enough to burn your dogs paws in under a minute? 🐾

Quick Tip: Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for them!

How to protect your pup:
-Walk during early mornings or evenings when it's cooler.
-Stick to the grass or shaded paths.
-Consider dog booties for extra protection.
-Keep paw pads healthy and moisturized.

If you notice limping, licking at paws, or visible blisters, call us right away. Burns can be painful and prone to infection.
