🚨 URGENT PARVO ALERT in Yuma County! 🚨

We're seeing an increase in canine parvovirus (Parvo) cases, a serious and highly contagious virus that can be deadly, especially for puppies, but are seeing an influx of adults, regardless of vaccine history.

Watch for these signs:
Severe vomiting
Bloody, foul-smelling diarrhea
Extreme lethargy/weakness
Loss of appetite & dehydration

PROTECT YOUR PET:
Vaccinate! Ensure your dog's shots are up-to-date.
Avoid High-Risk Areas: Keep puppies and unvaccinated dogs away from parks, pet stores, and unknown dogs.
Practice Hygiene: Clean shoes/hands after being outside.

If you see ANY symptoms, contact your vet IMMEDIATELY. Early treatment saves lives!

🌈Today, on Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, we pause to honor the beloved pets who’ve crossed the bridge. Though they may no longer be by our side, they’ll forever live in our hearts. 💕

Here are just a few of our pets that we are remembering today.

✨🐾 Happy National Pomeranian Day! 🐾✨

These fluffy little clouds might be small in size, but they’ve got BIG personalities (and even bigger hairdos 💁‍♀️). Whether they’re strutting their stuff, cuddling up, or ruling the household like royalty, Poms always know how to steal the spotlight. 👑🐶

Drop a photo of your Pomeranian in the comments! This is Sophia who comes to work with her mom at the clinic daily! She is an A+ supervisor!

🐈‍⬛ Black Cat Appreciation Day is more than a feel-good holiday — it’s also a reminder of a persistent challenge in animal welfare.

Research confirms that black cats face two significant disadvantages in shelters:
• Lower adoption rates
• Higher euthanasia rates

This “Black Cat Bias” (and broader “Dark Cat Syndrome”) has cultural roots — from centuries-old superstitions to subtle visual preferences — and it can affect how quickly cats find homes. In some cases, it even impacts the veterinary care they receive after adoption.

Our Trends article dives into Robert Carini’s study of nearly 8,000 cats in an urban Kentucky shelter and explores ways to counteract this bias, from better photography to reframing public perception.

Today’s the perfect day to challenge myths and celebrate black cats for what they truly are: loving, unique, and deserving of excellent care.

One of Dr Hasler's friends has been fostering this sweet girl after she was brought into their clinic for euthanasia. She was diagnosed and is being treated for Valley Fever that is in her bone and responding well to treatment. She is ready to find her forever home now. She is in the
Litchfield Park area. Reach out to the number in the photo if you are interested! ❤️

Important notice for dog owners! 🚨 We've received an increased number of reports in recent weeks of sick or disoriented coyotes within residential neighborhoods, parks and green spaces.

Laboratory testing confirmed the diagnosis of canine distemper, a highly contagious and often fatal viral disease that affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal and nervous systems of both domestic and wild animals, primarily canids.

So how can you protect your pets?

🐕 Keep pets up-to-date on vaccinations
🐕 Avoid feeding or handling wildlife
🐕 Supervise pets outdoors, especially near areas with wildlife

Our Story

We are a multi provider, full service, small animal practice, meaning we only treat Dogs and Cats but have capabilities of treating most common illnesses and injuries. We are available by appointment only and are open every other Saturday. Emergency and after-hour services are available to established Clients only. We recommend all residents, and visitors to the area, to establish a relationship with a local Veterinarian as soon as you get into the area as there is no emergency hospital within a 180 miles radius and you must be established to receive services at any of the local Veterinary Clinics.
