Today was a crazy day with rain coming on and off that we didn’t expect.

Today was the first lesson out on the trail 🥰. I walked behind with the baby while I instructed Ezekiel as he worked through their first trail ride together.

At first Jireh wanted to zigzag back-and-forth down the trail, so Ezekiel corrected that. Then he wanted to turn around when Zeke asked him to trot. The last thing was he wanted to walk fast home. So zeke stopped Jireh and backed a bunch until he was nice and soft.

The first few trail rides for a green horse can sometimes be a whole training lesson. However, the foundation is so important. I would rather work through it now and enjoy it later than teaching these are things he can get away with from the start.

it’s absolutely fair, because Jireh is in a big open space trying to decide if he can trust the rider on his back. This helps them both build confidence and trust in each other in a much different environment.

Boaz got his teeth floated, wolf teeth removed, and sheath cleaned today. He was a perfect gentleman.

Bo actually has a family lined up for him and is not available anymore. He will be staying with me until he is titled, though. ☺️I will tell more about it later 🥰

My cute little girl learning how to hold hooves independently to clean them out

Then Ezekiel riding Jireh and making sure they have a good one rein stop.

I learned the hard way from a broken rib, that it is incredibly important to drill in for both you and the horse to yield the end and a one rein stop.

A clinic I took on c**t starting really helped me fill in holes and figure out how to stay as safe as possible. Ezekiel gets the benefit of that and gets to learn all the tools that I’ve picked up along the way. I love seeing them both learn together. 🥰

Zera had her very first time riding a lope today and she had a blasssttt. The first one we missed on video, but we caught the second 🥰. She sure does love to ride. Raising my tiny trail riding partner one pony ride at a time 😆

Jireh and Zeke have been working hard the past week. Today they got the day off and Jireh just got a good hose down and grooming session ❤️❤️

Zera graduated from her saddle to ba****ck pad to work on balance more! She had a blast on her little trail ride. I am excited for the day I can go riding with her
