Meet Penny!

Penny is a 10.5-week-old cocker spaniel, mini poodle, chihuahua mix weighing in at 4.5 pounds of pure puppy sweetness! Don’t let her tiny size fool you—this little girl has a BIG personality and an even bigger heart.

Penny loves romping around with her puppy siblings and is already great with her foster cat siblings too. She’s a playful, curious goofball who will happily bounce after squeaky toys and proudly parade around with her absolute favorite prize: her Lamb Chop toy. When playtime winds down, Penny turns into a total cuddle bug and loves giving the sweetest little ear kisses.

She’s a happy, social pup who adores everyone she meets—dogs, cats, and people alike. Penny is ready to bring laughter, snuggles, and endless puppy joy to her forever family.

Penny has received her first two rounds of vaccinations, has been microchipped, dewormed, and treated for parasites. She is on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention to ensure she gets the healthiest start possible.

In accordance with state regulations, all puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption.

Please note at our organization, we prioritize finding the best match between our animals and their future families, rather than following a first-come, first-served approach. They were out of time. Out of options. Out of hope.

But we couldn’t look away.

Rescues everywhere are beyond full, and the medical cases keep getting worse. In just a few days, we said yes to multiple dogs who were suffering and facing the unthinkable. We said yes knowing the medical bills would be overwhelming — because their lives mattered.
Now we are asking for your help.

Toby

Toby is a 4 year old cardigan corgi who should have been someone’s beloved companion. Instead, he sat alone in a shelter labeled ā€œRESCUE ONLY.ā€

Why? Because he was abandoned at a shelter and found to be heartworm positive.

A slow, painful disease living inside his heart and lungs.

Without treatment, heartworm slowly suffocates dogs from the inside. They become exhausted. Weak. Breathless. Their bodies simply give out.

Toby now faces months of strict confinement and treatment — 3 to 6 months where he cannot run, play, or even get excited without risking his life. A young dog forced to live quietly in a crate so his heart doesn’t fail before the medicine can save him.

He didn’t deserve this. Now he will get his second chance at life.

Buttercup

Buttercup is just a 10 month old baby. Gentle. Sweet. Innocent.

Instead of learning how to play and explore the world, Buttercup is learning what it feels like when her own brain betrays her. She suffers from a seizure disorder — terrifying episodes where her tiny body loses control and she has no idea what’s happening to her.

Imagine being young, scared, and shaking uncontrollably… with the only family you knew abandoning you and lying about why.

She has finally been stabilized thanks to our incredible vet, but her fight is just beginning. She will need ongoing medical care and monitoring so she can live safely.
She deserves a future where seizures don’t define her life.

Angus (formerly Pooh Bear)

Angus’ story is one we will never forget.

He was left behind when a homeless encampment was cleared. Dogs scattered. Forgotten. Abandoned.

When animal services arrived, they found Angus lying in the dirt. He didn’t react. Didn’t lift his head. Didn’t even acknowledge they were there.

Because he couldn’t hear them.

His ear infections were so severe that veterinarians could not find his ear canals. The infection had been raging for so long that it had destroyed his ability to hear. They believe he had been suffering like this for over a year.

He was texted to us as rescue only due to his severe ear infection.
He had six hours left to live.

Six hours.

When Angus arrived, we were devastated:
Bite wounds
Tether wounds cutting into his neck and legs
Ears swollen shut, infected, and unbearably painful
A full-body fungal and yeast infection
Extremely painful joint movement

Exhausted. Shut down. A dog who had clearly stopped expecting kindness.

This was one of the worst cases our team has ever seen.

Angus was in such severe pain and poor condition that the shelter believed he was geriatric—but after treatment and further evaluation, our veterinary team discovered he is only 2–3 years old and should be in the prime of his life.

But Angus is still fighting.

Two weeks later, he is slowly starting to com out of his shell. Starting to move. Starting to feel comfort for the first time in a very long time. One eardrum has ruptured, leaving him permanently deaf in one ear. But the swelling is finally decreasing. His wounds are healing. His skin is improving. He is learning that warm beds exist. Gentle hands exist. Love exists.

For the first time in what may be years… Angus is experiencing relief from pain.

But we are drowning in medical bills.
And we cannot continue this lifesaving work without you.

✨ Meet the Big Bang Theory Litter! ✨
Mom Karlie did an incredible job raising this adorable crew, and now it’s our turn to help each of these sweet pups find their perfect forever homes. Karlie is believed to be a Shih Tzu mix and weighs just 7 pounds fully grown. Her puppies are charming little mixed-breed cuties who are expected to stay small—likely maturing between 7–15 pounds but all weighing under 3 pounds currently .
At 6.5 weeks old, they’re still growing, learning, and soaking up the world around them. They will not be ready for adoption until they are at least 8 weeks old but we are officially accepting applications.
Now, let’s meet the stars of the show:

🐾 Leonard (Male) - ADOPTED
Leonard is the biggest of the boys and the ultimate love bug with a curious streak. He enjoys exploring his surroundings, bravely venturing off on little adventures—only to suddenly crash in the nearest cozy corner for a nap. With his adorable ā€œmini labā€ look, he melts hearts wherever he goes. Leonard would thrive in a home that gives him the perfect balance of playtime, affection, and a soft spot to snooze.

🐾 Sheldon (Male)
Sheldon is the smallest of the boys but equal parts quirky and cuddly. This sweet boy has the cutest habit of hopping sideways when he plays, making every moment with him endlessly entertaining. His soft, slightly longer coat gives him an extra snuggly feel, and he absolutely loves being close to his people. Sheldon is looking for a home that appreciates his unique personality and is ready for lots of laughs and cuddles.

🐾 Rajesh (Male) - ADOPTED
Rajesh is the fluffiest of the boys, and he knows how to enjoy life! With a hearty appetite and an even bigger personality, he brings a fun, goofy energy wherever he goes. He’s playful, affectionate, and always ready to make you smile. Rajesh would do wonderfully in a home that embraces his joyful spirit and gives him plenty of love (and maybe a few extra treats).

🐾 Penny (Female)
Penny is an independent little lady with a calm and thoughtful nature. After a good play session with her toys and siblings, she’s perfectly content finding her own quiet space to relax and recharge. She has a gentle confidence about her and would do well in a home that respects her independence while still offering affection on her terms.

🐾 Bernadette (Female) - ADOPTED
Bernadette is the smallest of the girls—a delicate soul with a quiet strength. She may be tiny, but she absolutely holds her own among her siblings. She loves to observe the world around her, taking everything in before jumping into the action. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite, and once she trusts you, her sweet and affectionate nature really shines. She’d do best in a loving home that gives her time to blossom.

🐾 Missy (Female)
Missy is the biggest of the girls and the ultimate cuddle bug. Her favorite place in the world is in your arms, soaking up all the love and attention she can get. She thrives on human connection and would happily spend all day being held and doted on. Missy is perfect for someone looking for a constant companion who will shower them with affection and loyalty.

These six little personalities are as special as their namesakes, each bringing something unique and wonderful to the table. If you’re looking to add a small, loving companion to your family, one of these pups might just be your perfect match šŸ’›

These puppies are true babies. At just 8 weeks old, they are not potty trained or crate trained and will need patient, consistent guidance as they learn and grow. Adopting a young puppy is a rewarding experience, but it also requires time, commitment, and understanding as they develop good habits and confidence in their new home.

In accordance with state regulations, all puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption.

Please note at our organization, we prioritize finding the best match between our animals and their future families, rather than following a first-come, first-served approach. Our goal is to ensure that each pet is placed in a home that suits their needs and that the animal is the right fit for your lifestyle.

Please note that we are a foster-based rescue and do not operate a physical shelter. We are NOT the Yolo County Shelter or the Yolo County SPCA.

For more information on the adoption process, please refer to the application, which contains all relevant information. Please email our adoption team at [email protected] if you have questions after you complete the application, we will keep this posting updated on her status as the process proceeds.
