Homeward Pet's mission is to transform the lives of cats and dogs in need through compassionate medical care, positive behavior training, and successful adoption while building a more humane community. We started with simple goals: save and re-home cats and dogs and educate the public about spaying and neutering their pets. In 2002 Hooterville became Homeward Pet Adoption Center. Each year Homewar

d helps over 1,800 cats and dogs find their forever home. Where do these animals come from? 20% are owner surrenders and the other 80% are animals we rescue from shelters that euthanize. We remain small with a staff of 25 (half are part time). And our 400+ volunteers are our backbone (thank you volunteers and donors!). Many of the rescued animals who come to Homeward get more love and attention in our shelter than they have ever known. Our shelter continues to grow and improve.

Join us at Paddywack for a Pride-themed pet photo event supporting The Trevor Project and Homeward Pet!

On June 20, stop by Paddywack's Mill Creek location between 10 AM and 3 PM for fun, Pride-inspired photos of your pet. Bring a donation of pet food for Homeward Pet and get $5 off your session. If you buy your item from Paddywack, 15% of the proceeds will go towards The Trevor Project!

It’s a great way to support two meaningful causes and come away with some memorable photos. We hope to see you there!

Happy Tail: Chinook!

"It crossed my mind yesterday to share some fun pictures of Chinook.

He’s doing better lately after hurting his CCL last October. He’s on good medication and is very slowly walking better. Swimming is a different story. He loves it! Here’s some pictures from our recent trip to lake Washington. Let me know if you can’t see them.

Love,
Melissa and Chinook"

Pepita & Sunflower are two handsome 10 year boys. Pepita and Sunflower are quiet and mellow, who are happy to snooze most of the day, get cheek rubs and chin scratches when they are feeling snuggly, and gaze out the window when they need some entertainment. Pepita and Sunflower's adoption fees are waived in thanks to a generous donor and our Pay it Forward program.

We're receiving daily requests to bring in kittens from shelter partners and local rescues. These kittens are too young to stay in the shelter, which means we can only commit to helping them if we have foster homes available!

If you'd like to get started with fostering, visit https://www.homewardpet.org/volunteer/foster/ or email [email protected] with any questions!

When Nadia first came to us from a member of our community, she already had 4 puppies from a previous litter, and was pregnant with another! Thankfully, we had the perfect foster home for her, where she could rest, relax, and get tons of love and care. Her puppies are now about 4 weeks old and are thriving! They've been growing up surrounded by love and plenty of socialization in their foster home. We're so grateful to have great fosters in our community.

With kitten season here, it's a great time to apply to become a foster family with us. Visit homewardpet.org/volunteers/foster/ or comment FOSTER for the link!
