Homeward Pet's mission is to transform the lives of cats and dogs in need through compassionate medical care, positive behavior training, and successful adoption while building a more humane community. We started with simple goals: save and re-home cats and dogs and educate the public about spaying and neutering their pets. In 2002 Hooterville became Homeward Pet Adoption Center. Each year Homewar

d helps over 1,800 cats and dogs find their forever home. Where do these animals come from? 20% are owner surrenders and the other 80% are animals we rescue from shelters that euthanize. We remain small with a staff of 25 (half are part time). And our 400+ volunteers are our backbone (thank you volunteers and donors!). Many of the rescued animals who come to Homeward get more love and attention in our shelter than they have ever known. Our shelter continues to grow and improve.

Charlemagne and Yabigale are a cute and cozy bonded pair searching for their next perfect match. Both enjoy play, brushing, and lots of treats! Charlemagne is about eight years old and prefers a much more relaxed lifestyle and the occasional plain, cooked spaghetti noodle as a treat. Yabigale is a two year old with a little more pep in her step and would love to find someone ready to play!

Another great week of adoptions is in the books! Last week, 33 pets went home with their new families - including several long timers! 20 kittens, 9 cats, 1 puppy, and 3 dogs found their new families.

Kittens: E.T., Xenomorph, Douglas Fir, Ponderosa Pine, Sitka Spruce, Cayenne, Serrano, Jalapeno, Orion, Larb, Caesar, Chef, Beatric, Jake, Jasper, Crystal, Asher, Lunar, Danny, Hero

Cats: Sylvester (after nearly 4 months!), Cheeseburger (after nearly 4 months!), Tiger & Mouser (after 3 months!), Frida, Maxie, Tiva & Winston, Bert

Puppy: Plumeria

Dogs: Cheyenne & Gigi (after 4 months!), Bailey.

This fantastic group of girls is heading into middle school, and they’re already longtime supporters of Homeward Pet!

They’ve organized multiple fundraisers for us and have given so much of their time, energy, and heart to our animals.

We’re so inspired to see the younger generation stepping up, taking action, and making a difference in their community.
These girls are true go-getters, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things they accomplish!
