🚗 Never leave pets in a parked car (even for a minute!)

July is Lost Pet Prevention Month — and it's the perfect time to make sure your pet is
protected!
Here are a few simple steps you can take to help prevent your furry friend from getting lost:
🔒 Secure fences & gates — do a quick check for escape routes
📛 ID tags — make sure collars have current contact info
📡 Microchips matter — and don’t forget to keep the info updated
📷 Recent photos — keep a few on hand just in case
🦮 Leash up! — even pets with great recall can get startled

🍦🐾 It’s Vanilla Ice Cream Day! But can your pet join the celebration? 🐶🐱
The short answer: yes—in moderation!
Plain vanilla ice cream can be a safe treat for some pets, as long as it doesn’t upset
their tummy and doesn’t contain unsafe ingredients like xylitol, chocolate, or
macadamia nuts.
✅ A few licks on a hot day? Fun and tasty.
🚫 A whole bowl? Not a great idea.
Want to play it extra safe? Freeze plain Greek yogurt or make pet-friendly "nice
cream" with blended banana for a cool, creamy treat. 🍌

💦 July is Pet Hydration Awareness Month! 💦
Just like us, pets need plenty of water to stay healthy and happy, especially as the temperatures rise! Here are a few simple tips to help keep your furry friend hydrated:
💧 Measure water daily – Keep track of how much water your pet is drinking, especially during the warmer months.
💧 Use pet water fountains – Pets love running water! A fountain can encourage them to drink more throughout the day.
💧 Watch for hydration changes – Be mindful of any signs of dehydration, such as dry gums or a lack of energy.
💧 Keep a hydration log – Track your pet’s water intake and note any changes over time.
Bonus Tip: Offer fresh water throughout the day and ensure easy access in multiple spots, especially if you have a busy household! A hydrated pet is a happy, healthy pet!

🔥 Today is Pet Fire Safety Day – a great time to check your home and ensure your pets are safe in case of an emergency. 🐾
Here are some tips to keep your furry friends safe:
1. Keep fire hazards out of reach: Make sure candles, fireplaces, and space heaters are out of your pet’s reach to avoid any accidents.
2. Have a plan: Create an emergency escape plan for your pets. Know where you’ll go and how you’ll safely evacuate them if needed.
3. ID and microchips: Make sure your pet’s collar is properly fitted with ID tags, and consider getting them microchipped for added security.
4. Don’t leave pets unattended: Never leave your pet alone in a room with an open flame or cooking appliance. Accidents can happen in an instant.
5. Pet emergency stickers and evacuation prep: Consider placing a “Pet Emergency Sticker” on your front window to alert firefighters to how many pets are in your home.

If your pets are crated, keep their crates in easily accessible areas for quick evacuation. For pets that roam freely, think about where they may hide (under beds, behind furniture) so firefighters can check those spots if needed.

Having a plan can make all the difference in an emergency.
