🚨 FOUND DOG - PLEASE SHARE - WOLCOTT #85 🚨
Late last night, this handsome little guy was found by a resident on the Wolcott / Waterbury line on Spindle Hill Road.
Wolcott #85 is a young male Chihuahua with no collar, no tags, and no microchip. He appears to be healthy and in good condition, although he arrived with that classic Chihuahua personality — a little nervous, a little suspicious, and fully convinced the world might be ending. For those who know the breed, you know exactly what we mean!
Fortunately, it only took about a minute before the famous Chihuahua helicopter tail took flight and he started making friends and showing off his much braver side.

Wolcott #84 🐾🌊
Well, this sweet senior girl decided that today was the perfect day to tackle a little adventure… and apparently a little triathlon training.
She took on the challenge of swimming across Hitchcock Lake from Meriden Road to Central Avenue, and for an older lady, she completed it like she was a young puppy! 🏊‍♀️🐕
As she made her way up onto a resident’s boat dock, she stood there soaking wet, tail wagging, and looking incredibly proud of herself—as if to say, “Did you see what I just did?”
After enjoying a well-deserved protein-filled snack as her reward, she settled in comfortably and waited for us to arrive. Although she had plenty of energy left, we think she was pretty happy to catch a ride with Animal Control rather than complete another leg of her “triathlon.” 😄
We drove around the area and spread the word about this amazing swimmer, but unfortunately, nobody we spoke with recognized her.
She has no collar or identification tags. She is microchipped; however, the microchip is not registered, so we have not been able to locate an owner.
She is now safe, warm, and catching up on some much-needed rest. If you recognize this adventurous girl or know where she belongs, please contact:

🪿 A Reminder About Our Canadian Geese 🪿
Many of us are seeing Canadian geese throughout our neighborhoods, parks, and waterways. We would like to remind everyone that Canada geese are federally protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 (16 U.S.C. §§ 703–712).
The Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) makes it unlawful to pursue, hunt, take, capture, kill, possess, sell, transport, or disturb protected migratory birds, including Canada geese, as well as their nests and eggs, unless authorized by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
While geese can sometimes become territorial—especially during nesting season—they are simply protecting their young and behaving naturally. Please give them space, avoid approaching nests or goslings, and keep dogs leashed when near goose families.
Attempting to harm, relocate, or interfere with Canada geese or their nests without proper authorization can result in federal penalties.
We all share our community with wildlife. A little patience, understanding, and respect help ensure the safety of both residents and animals.

Maverick has been missing for a couple days now ..... he is friendly but scared !!!!! Maverick is not wearing a collar only a flea collar !!!! PLEASE call any sightings into the number on the flyer only !!!!!!

🐾 WELCOME HOME, MAVERICK! 🐾

After several days on the run, Maverick is finally safe and back where he belongs — with his loving family. ❤️

A few sightings came in this morning, and with patience, teamwork, and the right approach, everything came together perfectly. Maverick’s grandmother went to the area where he had been seen and brought along her dog. They quietly sat down in a yard near the sightings and waited.

Slowly, Maverick emerged from the woods.

As he caught his grandmother’s scent, he cautiously approached. Then, in a moment that none of us will forget, he walked over and jumped right into her lap. 🥹❤️

A special thank you to CT Dog Gone Recovery Volunteer Debbie, who provided the family with excellent guidance on calming signals and the importance of remaining quiet, patient, and non-threatening. She emphasized dropping to the ground, staying calm, and allowing Maverick to make the choice to approach. The family listened, trusted the process, and it worked beautifully.

This successful recovery was truly a community effort.

🐾 Thank you to Maverick’s family, who followed every piece of advice given and remained committed throughout the search.

🐾 Thank you to Brian for bringing out his drone and searching the area. This time of year presents unique challenges with heavy tree canopy cover, but he was able to thoroughly search the open tree farm areas.

🐾 Thank you to Mike and Aubrey for spending hours hiking and tracking. Aubrey certainly kept her nose to the ground and worked hard throughout the search.

Every share, every sighting report, every volunteer, and every supporter played a part in bringing Maverick home.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped and thrilled that this wonderful boy is safely back with the family who loves him.

WOLCOTT IMPOUND # 85
After an extensive investigation involving multiple sightings, neighborhood social media alerts, and several successful evasions on foot… this tiny Chihuahua fugitive has officially been BUSTED on DiSanto Drive for jaywalking and trespassing. 🚔
Authorities report the suspect has been notoriously difficult to capture, allegedly changing her appearance frequently by switching outfits in an attempt to avoid recognition. Today, she was found with absolutely ZERO identification and refused to provide officers with her real name or place of residence.
Ironically, after all the drama and weeks on the run, the suspect peacefully surrendered and happily strolled into the kennel like she owned the place. No resistance. No regrets. Just tiny criminal energy. 😅
We are now asking the public for assistance in identifying this little outlaw and reuniting her with her family.
