Today we honor and remember all the pets that have crossed the rainbow bridge.

It's never easy to say goodbye to a friend, and it always feels like they are leaving us too soon. The time we get to share with them is so precious, so today we can look back on memories of our friends we've lost with happiness and gratitude for a life well shared together. How lucky are we to love something so pure?

Today we celebrate Gunta and wish her the very happiest of (belated) Birthday wishes!

Gunta is a wonderful person to get to work with- she offers the world a calm and cool demeanor that can often come with a side of a sharp, quick-witted joke or comment. We look forward to the days that she is at the clinic because she is wonderful to be around and makes us all feel a little brighter with her funny presence. She has a deep love for travel and scenery and embodies the beauty of the world around her. She is great with clients- making them a top priority with her efficiency and ability to keep calm during high-stress moments. There isn't an answer she won't find for you, and we are so appreciative of just how special that quality is in a person. So cheers to our wonderful co-worker and friend- Gunta. You make us all a little better and a lot happier and we are forever grateful to have you part of the team! We hope your day was as fun as you and all your beautiful travels!

Even though we are nearing the end of the summer- we want to remind you that now more than ever your preventatives are extremely important to be giving your pets. The bugs aren't taking a break from the heat- so make sure you have your preventative on board today to protect your loved ones' from some pretty nasty and deadly diseases.

The Dog Days of Summer are here...and it is HOT! We want to provide some helpful reminders on keeping your pet hydrated as July is known as Pet Hydration Awareness Month.

Always provide fresh water- Ensure a water bowl is accessible at all times.
Monitor water intake- Pay attention to how much your pet is drinking.
Offer wet food- Incorporating wet food or adding broth to their water can increase moisture intake.
Limit outdoor activity on hot days- Reduce intense exercise & provide ample shade for your pets.
Carry water- Bring water for your pet during outdoor activities and adventures.

Keep an eye out and monitor them throughout the day making sure that they are staying hydrated!

Another awesome summer birthday- this time we celebrate Becky B! Please join us in wishing her a very Happy Birthday!

A fun fact about Becky B that sums her up wonderfully is that she just walked into the clinic one day and asked if we were hiring- when told that they weren't sure she came back with a resumé...almost six years later and WOW are we glad she did. Becky B is an incredible asset to us not only as a co-worker who isn't afraid to do the good, bad and ugly side of the job, but as a friend who cares a lot about her co-workers and the clients. She's so knowledgable about the industry and is great at keeping us up to date both from a medical standpoint, and from a client standpoint often coming up with helpful suggestions and useful things to try. On top of all of that she is a great mom that truly cares and does it all.

So happiest of Birthday wishes to you Becky B- we hope you feel special today because you really, really are. We're lucky to call you a part of this team!

Ensure their ID tags and microchips are up-to-date for a quick return if they escape.

Exercise your pet earlier in the day to reduce anxiety.

Provide calming aids

Finally- secure your home by locking doors and fences to prevent escape.
