Breaking News: Shelter dogs have officially declared couches superior to kennel floors. 🐶🛋️

Scientists (okay... our dogs) have confirmed that naps are 97% better on a couch.

They're looking for temporary roommates who can offer:

Another incredible adoption day to close out the month! 🐾

Because of this amazing community, we celebrated over 150 adoptions this month. 150 lives changed, 150 second chances, and countless happy endings.

We are so grateful for every adopter, every share, every volunteer, and every supporter who helps make this possible. A special thank you to our sponsors who continue to stand beside us and help us save lives.

It's almost August (I know, that's hard to believe, right??) and we are still looking for one or more wonderful community members or businesses to step up and help keep our adoption fees low. We need sponsors - you will directly be saving lives and warming hearts!!

What better way to promote your business than a shout out from us (multiple times throughout the month, on Facebook and Instagram) letting the world know that you are here for the animals in our community? What better gift to give a friend or family member than a sponsorship in their name? Sponsorship for a full month is $3000 and for half the month it is $1500. We are also glad to accept gifts of any size to help defray adoption fees.

What a wonderful adoption day at Forsyth County Animal Shelter!

There is nothing better than watching our animals head home with the families they've been waiting for. Every adoption means a fresh start, a cozy bed, and a lifetime of love.

To everyone who adopted today, thank you for opening your hearts and your homes. We wish you and your newest family member many happy adventures together.

Our shelter is still full of amazing dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies waiting for their own happy ending. If you've been thinking about adding a new family member, stop by and meet them. Dog adoptions are just $5, and your perfect match might be waiting for you.

😍😍😍PUPPIES 🥰🥰🥰

For everyone who asks when we will have puppies available for adoption - we have puppies available for adoption.

There are 8 left, 5 male and 3 female. They were found without mom or dad so we don't know how big they will be when fully grown - our best guess is medium sized. They are around 2 months old and have had their first round of vaccines.

All are mostly black with small white patches here and there and ears that go on for days! They chew on anything and everything they can get their paws on and have outstanding puppy breath.

We will open at 12 pm tomorrow (Wednesday) and adoptions are first come. Please complete an application on our website prior to coming in to see them.

A foster home can tell us what a kennel never will.

Some animals shut down in the shelter.

They're too scared to play.
Too stressed to eat.
Too overwhelmed to show us who they really are.

Then they go into a foster home... and everything changes.

The shy dog becomes a cuddle bug. The quiet cat starts making biscuits. The nervous puppy discovers zoomies.

🐾 Can you help us change a dog's life? ❤️

Our kennels are full, and we have so many wonderful dogs waiting for someone to give them a chance. Whether you're looking to foster for a few weeks or adopt forever, one of these sweet faces might be your perfect match.

🐶 Venus – 4-year-old male, 65 lbs. A sweet, happy guy who came in with another dog and is ready to be someone's best friend.
UPDATE: ADOPTED

🐶 Winnie – 4-year-old female, 51 lbs. An owner surrender who could really use a break from shelter life. She's smart, knows sit, and if you're looking for a cuddle buddy, she's your girl.

🐶 Draco – 10-month-old Lab mix, 45 lbs. He's all puppy—fun, goofy, and always ready for his next adventure.

🐶 Echo – 3-year-old male, 80 lbs. Walks beautifully on a leash and is heartworm positive. Right now, he just needs a loving place to rest and be spoiled while he recovers.

🐶 Shaiman – 4-year-old female, 68 lbs. A shy girl with a gentle heart who's just waiting for someone to help her build her confidence.

🐶 Blinky – 2-year-old female, 54 lbs. The sweetest angel you'll ever meet. She's recovering from a UTI and would much rather be curled up on a couch than in a kennel.

🐶 Ray Ray – 5-year-old male, just 7 lbs! This tiny guy has lived with kids, chickens, and other dogs. He's got a big personality packed into a little body.

✨ Every foster home opens up space for another animal in need. Every adoption changes two lives—the dog's and your own.
