He’s got a wobbly walk, a big heart, and a name that suits him perfectly. Meet Lucky. 💛 Follow along and read below for the incredible story of Lucky's road to recovery.
On August 8th, at four months old, Lucky was seized as part of a cruelty investigation after being found tethered to a back porch for over 24 hours. Eight days later, he was transferred to Forsyth Humane Society to receive care and the second chance he desperately needed.
When Lucky first arrived, our team immediately noticed he was struggling to use his back left leg. But that was just one of many challenges he faced. He was also recovering from neuter surgery, battling a case of kennel cough, and was struggling with limited mobility.
To give him the best chance at healing, Lucky was placed in a loving foster home. There, his foster noticed he wasn’t mobile at all; he even had to be carried outside for potty breaks. Concerned, the foster sent our team a video of Lucky trying to walk. What we saw confirmed our fears: he appeared lame in both hind legs.
Our veterinary team sent Lucky for radiographs, which revealed his diagnosis of bilateral tibia fractures in his back legs. Despite all that Lucky was struggling with, his gentle spirit never wavered.
On September 8th, Lucky underwent surgery at Bedrock Veterinary Specialists to repair both fractures. We knew his recovery would be long and challenging, but if anyone could do it, it was Lucky.
Now with strict rest and TLC, Lucky is on the road to recovery. His name says it all, he's "Lucky" to have landed in the hands of so many people who believe in giving animals the second chances they deserve and putting compassion in action.
🚨 Now we need your help! Because we said yes to Lucky, he's healing today. Your gift to help cover the cost of Lucky's surgery enables us to continue saying yes to urgent medical needs like this.
