We are so greatful for our Farrier, April who helps us with our most difficult cases. She comes from over an hour away just to help horses no one else will.
This sweet mare came to us as a Killpen bailout, she was purchased by an independent individual and sent to us for rehab.
She was incredibly lame due to severe thrush and a major event that occurred to her right hind foot. April was able to clean the foot up enough to take off the leverage forces and also to get her ready for X-rays.
We hope we can get this sweet mare’s foot growing properly so she can get adopted by a loving home.
April also trimmed a horse that was surrendered to us named Clover. When Clover was young, he got caught in a fence and his heel bulb was damaged - causing his foot to forever be deformed.
April also trimmed our giant draft Ginger and Tennessee, a massive 30 year old thoroughbred gelding.
