Quick Rior update! 🐾

We’re closing in on the end of week five in his 6-week off-leash obedience board & train program. Tomorrow, Rior gets to come home for a few days—just in time for his very first birthday! 🎈

What’s extra special about our program is that dogs like Rior get to visit home and see their families even while training is still in progress. We love making these go-home lessons part of the process. It gives everyone some peace of mind, lets the humans see all the progress in action, and helps the dogs transition back home smoothly (plus, who doesn’t love some bonus belly rubs?).

So get ready for a weekend full of silly shenanigans, bum scratches, and practicing all those new skills. After celebrating, he’ll be back for his last stretch of training before graduation.

If you spot him out there, wish our birthday boy some extra treats—and thank you to everyone for cheering him on! 🐶💙

Rior and his people crushed their urban field trip to Home Depot. He navigated a busy parking lot with them, then walked over to Petco—lots of distractions, other dogs, you name it. He handled it all and made it back like a pro. He even showed off his down stay while everything around him was moving, holding steady until he was released. Getting in and out of the car was no problem, either.

Along the way, his people learned all of Rior’s marker words, and more importantly, how timing makes all the difference when using them. They practiced when to put him in a heel for tricky situations, and how to give him a little more freedom while still walking politely on the leash.

Rior enjoyed a good bath today and instead of going in the dirt we supervised a good turf roll with him after some zoomies.

Circe went home on a long trip back to NY, last weekend, and her owners were thrilled to have her back. While transitions can sometimes be challenging for dogs, Circe returned to the same structure and loving guidance she experienced during our six-week program.

Her family has been keeping up with the nighttime routine we established, making sure she gets plenty of rest—just as important as all the exercise and mental work she’s doing. They’re committed to providing her with structured outings and hikes to keep her body and mind engaged.

One thing her owners have especially noticed is that Circe is showing much more neutrality around other dogs, even within their own household. That’s a huge step and speaks to the progress she’s made.

We’ll continue to check in, both to support her transition and to keep an eye out for any potential behavior or health concerns. As always, we’re here if her family needs anything—for Circe or for themselves.

Rosie out in group during her stay. She’s an awesome member and addition to the pack while her parents enjoyed their holiday! 🫶🏻
Rior will be doing a private lessons with his owners, his second since staying with us for his board and train. We’ll be doing an out and about field trip lesson to show his owners what he’s accomplished the last 4 weeks!
