🐾 Competitor Spotlight: Corporal Sullivan & K9 Ranger 🐾
Please help us welcome Corporal Sullivan and K9 Ranger from the Willimantic Police Department to the 2026 Connecticut K9 Olympics!
Corporal Sullivan and K9 Ranger are a dedicated dual-purpose K9 team serving the Willimantic community. Ranger and Corporal Sullivan graduated from V3 K9 Academy in January 2026 and have since earned certifications through both NAPWDA and NNDDA in patrol and detection work.
Their accomplishments include:
🐕 Graduated from V3 K9 Academy in January 2026
🐕 Certified as a dual-purpose K9 team
🐕 Certified through NAPWDA
🐕 Certified through NNDDA
Although they are a newer team, Corporal Sullivan and K9 Ranger have already demonstrated the drive, dedication, and teamwork that make police K9 teams such valuable assets to their communities. This year, they will join K9 teams from across New England to showcase their skills and compete at the Connecticut K9 Olympics.

K9 Drogo out there making us proud

K9 Drogo (recently donated to WPD by DynaDogs and trained by V3)

On 02/04/2026 around 6:00 PM, Willimantic Police Patrol and K9 units executed a narcotics search and seizure warrant at a local residence. K9 Drogo, a recent graduate of our Police K9 Handler Course, alerted to multiple areas inside the home, leading to the recovery of fentanyl, crack co***ne, drug proceeds, and drug manufacturing/packaging materials.

Officers also seized a 9mm firearm, a large-capacity magazine, and multiple rounds of ammunition.

Two individuals were arrested and charged with multiple offenses including illegal firearm and magazine possession, sale of narcotics, operation of a drug factory, and possession with intent to sell. One subject was held on a $250,000 bond and the second on a $100,000 bond.

The Patrol and K9 Divisions continue to proactively combat drug and weapons-related activity to keep the community safe.
