📣Our practice will be closed Monday, September 7th for the Labor Day holiday. If you need any food or medications for the long weekend, please reach out as soon as you can, with the understanding we do typically request 48 hours’ notice!

We are wishing all of our clients and pets a safe holiday weekend, but should you need assistance while we are closed:

🐾Northway Animal Emergency Clinic in Moreau is open Friday starting at 8am and open until Tuesday at 8am.
🐾Upstate Veterinary Specialties in Latham is open 24 hours.
🐾Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital in Latham is open 24 hours.

Please bear in mind these facilities experience a high number of patients in need of critical care. We encourage you to call them ahead, and appreciate your patience and understanding with our fellow hard working veterinary professionals!

🥲 After 8 years, we are saying a bittersweet goodbye today to our beloved Veterinary Assistant, Lee ✨

Lee began with the practice as a Client Service Representative in 2018 as always a kind, calming presence for clients and coworkers alike. Quickly realizing their passion for caring directly for pets, Lee moved on to the role of Veterinary Assistant. Their gentle nature was a perfect match for the practice’s transition to Fear Free Pets practices, a shining example of patience and calm. Always striving to become more of service to all animals, Lee holds a NYSDEC Wildlife Rehabilitator license, and is working toward their Veterinary Technician degree through Penn Foster University. They are moving on to an exciting new journey in Buffalo with a new practice, who has no idea how lucky they are!

We will miss the balance Lee brings of both hard work and whimsy…along with photography skills (taking 98% of our pet photos!), pet advocacy, kindness, friendship, and a shining example of everything we could hope for in a team member!

Join us in wishing Lee much luck in their next adventure 💖 We’re going to miss you!

Dental Procedure Tails 🐾🦷: Buckingham just turned 8 and I was noticing that even with his dental chews he was experiencing a lot of plaque buildup and his breath was not improving even with the dental chews. I brought him in for a dental cleaning, and the results were amazing! Pearly white teeth just like he had as a puppy and his breath was 100% better. Now we can get back to the dental chews and brushing knowing we have a fresh slate. Loved getting the photo update of him as he was going for his first walk post-anesthesia too!

Celebrating a very happy anniversary to our one and only Facilities and IT Support expert, Steve! His official anniversary is the 15th which happened to land on a Saturday this year, so late last week we had a "Steve Appreciation Day" lunch of Steve's choice to thank him for a whopping 29 YEARS of quality care to all of SVH's needs!

Dental Procedure Tails 🐾🦷: We are so grateful to the entire team at Saratoga Veterinary Hospital for taking such wonderful care of our Boston Terrier, Louis, during his recent dental procedure. Like many pet owners, we were nervous about anesthesia and the recovery process, but the staff made us feel informed, supported, and reassured every step of the way.
Before the procedure, Louis had become increasingly fussy with eating and clearly seemed uncomfortable at times. Since his dental care, we’ve already noticed positive changes in his comfort and overall demeanor. Even during recovery, the team was incredibly attentive and compassionate, answering all of our questions and helping us navigate his soft-food diet and healing process.
It’s easy to underestimate how important dental health is for pets, but this experience reminded us how much it impacts their quality of life. We truly appreciate the professionalism, kindness, and level of care provided by Saratoga Veterinary Hospital. Louis is very loved in our family, and knowing he was in such good hands meant everything to us.
