K’s Pup Parlor Welcome to K's Pup Parlor. High quality grooming in a calm environment. My name is Kaylee, I am 22 years old with 3 fur babies. My garage will do for now.

I feel it is important for pet owners to know their groomers, so here is a little bit about me and my background. I started grooming in 2018 and found it was my passion, something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So I built a grooming salon in my home, in hopes of one day owning my own grooming salon and boutique. I made it a promise to owners and myself to treat their Fur Babies with the upmost respect and love, to make them squeaky clean and beautifully groomed at reasonable prices.

Did you know dogs can be exposed to leptospirosis (Lepto) through contaminated water, including ponds, puddles, and lakes?

Lepto is a bacterial disease spread through the urine of infected wildlife and can cause serious illness in dogs. While that cool lake swim might look tempting, it’s always a good idea to know the risks and talk with your veterinarian about prevention options.

🐾 Fun Fact Friday! ☀️

Did you know that when the air temperature is 85°F, pavement can reach over 130°F? That’s hot enough to burn your dog’s paw pads in less than a minute!

A quick way to check: Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your pup’s paws.

Early morning and evening walks are often the safest choice during hot summer days. 🐶❤️🐾

🌾 Foxtails & Your Dog’s Paws: What Every Pet Parent Should Know 🐾

Foxtails may look harmless, but these dry grass seed heads can be a serious problem for dogs. Their sharp, barbed shape allows them to work their way into paws, ears, noses, eyes, and skin.

⚠️ Signs a foxtail may be stuck in your dog’s paw:
• Excessive licking or chewing at the foot
• Limping or favoring a paw
• Redness, swelling, or tenderness between the toes
• Drainage or an unexplained sore
• Sudden discomfort after being outside

🌱 Prevention Tips:
✔️ Check your dog’s paws after walks, hikes, and outdoor play
✔️ Keep paw hair trimmed to reduce debris getting trapped
✔️ Avoid areas with tall, dry grasses when possible
✔️ Remove foxtails from your yard before they dry out and spread

🚨 Important: Foxtails don’t break down naturally and can continue migrating deeper into the skin, causing painful infections. If you suspect your dog has a foxtail embedded in their paw, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.
