Sweet Mia came by to meet Dr. Buxton today, and we think it’s safe to say she made a new friend! 💕 Mia dreams of becoming a veterinarian when she grows up, and we absolutely love seeing young animal lovers inspired by the field of veterinary medicine.

We have some exciting news! We are growing again! Help us welcome Dr. Coughran to the family!

Dr. Coughran and her husband James live in Jacksboro. They met while both serving in the United States Marine Corps. They have one daughter and one granddaughter along with several cats, dogs, goats, guineas, chicken, and a mustang.

Dr. Buxton was born and raised in southwest Oklahoma, where he still lives today with his wife and their two little girls. Family is at the heart of everything he does, and we know that same care and dedication will shine through in the way he treats your pets.

Growing up, he loved football, baseball, and spending time outdoors—values that shaped his strong work ethic and passion for helping others. Following in his dad’s footsteps, Dr. Buxton pursued a career in veterinary medicine, turning a lifelong inspiration into a meaningful profession.

We are so excited to have him join our team and can’t wait for you and your pets to meet him! 💙🐶🐾

💛 A little help goes a long way for our shelter pets 💛

With puppy and kitten season upon us, we can always use a few extra supplies for the animals in our care 🐾

We are especially in need of:
• Canned food (puppy, kitten, and adult dog & cat)
• Toys — we go through a LOT of toys!
• Beds, blankets, and towels (new or gently used are perfectly fine)

Doing some spring cleaning? We would gladly put those items to good use!

📍 Donations can be dropped off anytime we are open — we have a donation bin right inside our front doors:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 11 AM – 6 PM
Wednesday: 1 PM – 6 PM
Saturday: 10 AM – 2 PM
