Your kindness means so much to our shelter, and the items will definitely be put to good use. Our shelter dogs will especially enjoy the pill pockets and stuffed toys! We also love the beautiful photo and tribute you shared. Bear looks like a lovely sheltie mix and clearly a very special companion. Thank you for honoring her memory by helping other animals in need. 🐾🐾

🐾 SUPPLIES RUNNING LOW 🐾

Our shelter is currently very low on two items we rely on every single day:

🧸 Dog toys — especially stuffed toys (“stuffies”)
💊 Pill pockets (used to help dogs take their medications)

With the shelter currently full, our pups are going through toys quickly, and several dogs currently require daily medication — which means we’re going through pill pockets faster than usual.

If you’re heading to the store and are able to grab one of these items, it would make a huge difference for our dogs.

Donations can be dropped off at the Humane Society for Boone County from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm M-F. You can also have items delivered to our shelter.

You may notice a little something new on our page — our new logo! 🐾

Our new logo honors our history while looking toward the future. The shelter🏡 represents the safe haven we strive to provide, and a home we hope one day to find for the animals in our care. The heart 💌 reflects our compassion and love we have for these animals as well as the quality care we are committed to provide. The updated dog 🐕 reflects the animals we serve today. You’ll notice the dog and cat🐈 are positioned side by side, in this new logo, not on separate floors, showing that cats and dogs can live in harmony, even if they occasionally disagree about personal space. 😋

At 5 years old, Pumpkin has perfected the art of the full-body wiggle. When she sees her favorite people, her entire backside gets moving — it’s impossible not to smile around her!
