It has been a good week at HSforBC, and we’re excited to celebrate by giving back for all that you continue to give us. First, we welcomed Bam Bam, a sweet little corgi/cattle dog who arrived to us in critical condition with his siblings. After receiving a much-needed blood transfusion, Bam Bam is now recovering beautifully and doing wonderfully. But that’s not all—we also shared that we were chosen Best Service Organization in the Lebanon Reporter’s Readers’ Choice contest! We’re so grateful for your support and proud to serve our community.

💔As of today, Soos has been waiting for his forever home for 1 year💔

He is a big, beautiful boy with an even bigger heart, but he needs a special person to help him feel safe in the world. This 4-year old gentle giant is a gentle soul who craves attention and loves to snuggle, but new people and unfamiliar situations can be overwhelming for him. Because of his fear-based behaviors, he needs an experienced owner who understands the breed and can provide the structure, patience, and positive reinforcement he needs to build trust.

Danes are known to be incredibly loyal and loving companions. Soos needs someone willing to go at his pace and give him the security he craves to help him see that the world isn’t so scary after all. Could that person be you?

💛 Volunteer Appreciation Week! 💛

This week (and every week), we’re giving a HUGE thank you to our incredible volunteers!

Your dedication, compassion, and hard work keep HSforBC running — and we truly couldn’t do it without you.

🐾 Our clinic volunteers show up every Sunday without fail, making sure our foster and shelter pets are healthy and up-to-date on vaccinations.

🐾 Our reception team greets everyone with a smile, collects donations, and keeps things organized Monday through Friday.

🐾 Our dog care volunteers are here twice a day and sometimes more — feeding, medicating, exercising, and patiently working on basic manners with every pup.

🐾 Our cat volunteers are a special breed of awesome — some have been with us for years, lovingly caring for our kitties with twice daily cleanings, feedings, and cuddles.

🐾 Our Outreach and Event Volunteers spread the word, build community, and raise the funds that fuel our mission.

🐾 And our behind-the-scenes heroes — from organizing and cleaning, to stocking our Pet Pantry — you make magic happen in quiet ways.

Soos, Cutie, Dash, and Maddy have been at our shelter for a long time with very little to no interest. All volunteers cannot understand as to why these sweet faces are still with us. We would love for them to find their forever homes.
