KITTEN RUN OVER by a TRUCK 🙀
However, the story has a happy ending!!
This Kitten was in the parking lot at Sam’s Club in St Clairsville and a truck literally ran over her… however she was between the wheels and was by some miracle unharmed. (Our “Delma Schank Guardian Angel” must have been looking out for her.❤️)
Kitty does have a few health issues that will need to be addressed before she’s available for adoption. Thank you to the Good Samaritans who saw her and took action to save her and bring her to us at clinic.

One of two late in the day emergencies yesterday. The other was a pr*****ed uterus. See that picture in comments. Mommy and babies were saved and sent home with their family.❤️

UPDATE: Kitty returned to clinic yesterday for another laser treatment. I don’t think we have pictures, but Kitty had gained weight and is so much better! ♥️

Our “Delma Shank Guardian Angel for Stray Cats Fund” has helped another sad case.
We’ve probably all heard that a six pack ring should be cut before it’s thrown away because of the risk of entangling wildlife or fish. Evidently, they are a danger to cats also. A sad case came into Clinic yesterday; see pictures in comments.
This poor kitty was noticed by some folks, she was eating near a dumpster, and the wonderful Good Samaritans scooped up kitty and brought her to our clinic! Of course, our vet and volunteers stayed late to try to save her. The plastic ring was cut off, one leg needed surgery, laser surgery was done, and Kitty was spayed/vaccinated/flea treated while she was under. ❤️ And the wonderful folks who found her, took her home and are keeping her. They’ll bring her back weekly for laser treatment.

🐾 Saving little lives is big work! 🐾

UPDATE: Kitty was unwell and was not able to have surgery for the eye just yet. She’ll be on medicine for a few weeks and then at least one eye will be removed.😢

Another SAD CASE😿
This tiny baby, rescued today, is coming into clinic Thursday from one of our rescue partners. One eye will need removed for sure and the other eye is not looking good.😿
FUNDS ARE NEEDED to help this baby and so many others!💔

We’re giving him laser treatments, antibiotics, and pain medicines.

Look at us…still busy! Along with Freddy, the cat with severe chemical burns on his face, there were several other emergencies this past week.😿See photos..also note we have an Easter Raffle going on; please stop in clinic at 86 27th St in Wheeling on April 17 to purchase a chance!
In addition, we spayed/neutered 105 cats this past week!🙀

UPDATE: Many cat lovers attended the city council meeting, along with Webark volunteers! Several took the podium to stand up for stray cats.🐈‍⬛ 🙂
Council stated they are willing to work towards a solution to the cat problem and tabled the proposal that would prevent the feeding of stray cats.
The proposal will be revised by council and presented at a later date.

“Stray cats DO NOT deserve to be fed.”
WHAT????🙀😮
According to the Wheeling, WV city code amendment up for a vote on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, “Intentionally providing food or sustenance for feral or stray cats is prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person to place any type of food upon any property for the purpose of feeding stray and/or undomesticated felines. Any person found to be in violation of this section shall be subject to penalties.”
(Apparently, if this is approved by city council, the penalty will be: $300 for first offense of feeding a stray cat and $500 for a second offense; any police officer will be allowed to fine a cat feeder and/or label them a repeat offender.)
Do you feed stray cats, or know someone who does? Perhaps you have a managed colony of cats that are all spayed/neutered, that you feed daily. Do you believe that these animals have a BASIC RIGHT to eat? These homeless cats deserve better than to be starved out of existence! Please plan to attend the meeting on Tuesday at the City-County building in downtown Wheeling, WV, 5:30 p.m. Register to speak at the meeting between five and 5:15.
Stray cats have no voice-they have no choice.💔

It appears that blind baby kitten and his mom are all settled in with the new family.😍
This young man, along with his siblings and mom and dad, are taking great care of these 2 lucky kitties.❤️
How wonderful that this kind family expressed interest in adopting mom and her blind baby together! 🥰
We hope they have MANY happy years!

A sad story…turned happy!❤️
Feral kittens usually aren’t fortunate enough to be handled in the first few months of their life.
As fate would have it, they carry with them-for all their life-the burden of trying the best they can to fit into a world that isn't for them.
Instead of soft beds and toys, they get hatred, trash, hunger, injuries, fear.💔😿
A very few are lucky enough to be looked after and have a caretaker feed them daily.
HAPPILY for Hudson, Webark volunteers discovered him and spent days trapping him and his 3 siblings. (Along with their mom-we never leave a mom cat behind!)
These kitties will be safe, healthy, and loved.❤️
PLEASE if you see a stray cat, feed them…help them. They need (and deserve) a hand! ❤️
