There’s a lot more happening here than just riding circles.

Abella and Star are working on developing true collection—teaching Star to step deeper underneath herself with her hind end, engage her core, lift her shoulders, and carry herself correctly. When a horse learns to drive from behind instead of pulling from the front, they become lighter in the bridle, more balanced, and much more explosive when it’s time to accelerate.

Every ride has a purpose, and this is one of the building blocks that creates speed, power, and consistency in the show pen.

State Show is getting closer, and we’re putting in the work one ride at a time. 💪🐴

Some of us are preparing for the show pen. Some are learning new skills. Some are building confidence one ride at a time.

But for one evening, we all come together with the same goal—to become a little better than we were yesterday.

Another horse ready for the show pen!

This ranch gelding got a fresh set of fronts with quarter clips added for extra stability and security throughout the shoeing cycle.

We also adjusted his breakover to help him get off the ground more efficiently and encourage a cleaner, more fluid front-end movement. Every horse is different, so our approach is always tailored to that horse’s conformation, job, and goals.

Whether it’s keeping a trail horse comfortable or helping a performance horse prepare for competition, our goal is always the same—build the best foundation possible.
