Button Meadow is a private dog boarding and dog daycare facility located on 15 acres in Westhampton at the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains in Western Massachusetts in the Pioneer Valley. Our dog daycare services the following communities: Northampton, Florence, Easthampton, Leeds, Haydenville, and parts of Chesterfield, Williamsburg and Southampton.

I’m taking a break with my dear old friend Basil who turned 15 last month. We had a busy morning. It’s a beautiful day. I left my back door open so all the dogs can come and go inside and out as they please but I’m gonna stay here with Basil because she’ll be picked up in about an hour. I want spend that time with her snoring and snoozing on my lap.

It’s a beautiful warm Friday morning. The energy and play groupings were clearly split so I got the Littles in one yard and the Bigs in the other so they’re not running over on top of,under and over each other. It’s a beautiful day.

Dear Sam crossed over the rainbow bridge yesterday morning. Sam was independent, empathetic. He was unique in his likes and habits. He taught me so much about dogs, singly and a whole pack. I came to understand the way they talk in shorthand, helping me "read the room". Teaching me to think less and feel more. To be open to everything these dogs are sharing with all who are able to notice. This little clip must have been an excellent and chill day.
I've been looking over old photos and videos and chose this little clip. I just about remember this day 9 years ago. I'm inside checking something. Thinking all the dogs are outside, I am surprised to see Sam standing quietly beside me looking up with those deep soulful eyes. I capture this touching quiet moment between us. I felt like he was already an old friend. On this date he had been coming to my daycare 2-3 days a week for two years. Looking back across nine years since this day my heart is broken because my teacher, my challenger, my dear friend has left me, left us.
