Like people, dogs have to acclimate to the changing weather. This is the time of year, May & June, when dogs are prone to heat stroke. This can be a life threatening situation.
Closely monitor your dogs level of exercise and limit their activity during hot days. Make sure your pet has plenty of cool water and access to shade. Look for signs of heat stroke such as very heavy panting and heavy salivation, they may also vomit. If you suspect heat stroke get your pet to an air conditioned environment and place ice packs under arm pits. A trip to the vet is probably a good idea.
