We know how much your feline family members mean to you, and we also know even the most indoor-loving cats can be sneaky escape artists. 🐱💙

Whether your cat spends time indoors or outdoors, a microchip provides a permanent form of identification if they ever go missing. Since collars can fall off and cats are often mistaken for strays, microchips can play an important role in helping lost pets make it back home. If your cat isn’t microchipped yet, our team would be happy to help.

***UPDATE: OUR OFFICES WILL BE CLOSING AT 4PM TODAY***

🌪️ Storm Chaser Savanah is here to share some of her favorite Severe Weather Pet Tips with all of you!

⛈️ With severe thunderstorms and potential for tornadoes in the forecast today now is the time to make sure your pets are prepared too!

✅ Bring pets indoors before storms arrive.
✅ Make sure collars, ID tags, and microchip registration information are up to date.
✅ Keep carriers, leashes, and emergency supplies easily accessible.
✅ Create a safe space inside your home where pets can shelter during severe weather.
✅ Keep medications, food, and water packed in case you need to leave quickly.
✅ If a tornado warning is issued, bring pets with you to your shelter area—never leave them outside.

Remember, pets can become anxious during storms. Offer comfort, stay calm, and keep their routine as normal as possible.

We're still planning on being here until 5 today, but will update you as soon as possible if that changes. ❤️🐾

🪰 Have you heard about the New World Screwworm?

This parasite can cause severe damage by feeding on living tissue, making early detection and wound care critical. While it is not established in Indiana, recent detections in the southern U.S. highlight the importance of staying informed.

Take a moment to learn the signs and check your pets regularly for wounds that aren’t healing properly. If you have questions about your pet’s health or wound care, give us a call—we’re happy to help!

Meet Maverick, Dr. Jackson’s very best boy 💛 — a 9-year-old Golden Retriever who reminds us every day how special our senior pets truly are.

As dogs like Maverick enter their golden years, their health can change quickly — often in ways that aren’t obvious at home. That’s why we recommend bi-annual wellness visits for senior pets (typically age 7 and older).

These twice-a-year exams help us catch early signs of age-related conditions like arthritis, kidney disease, heart changes, dental disease, and more — often before symptoms are noticeable.

Early detection means earlier treatment, better comfort, and more happy, healthy time with the people who love them most. ❤️

Just like Maverick, every senior pet deserves attentive, proactive care to keep them feeling their best.

🐶 Because they’re more than pets — they’re family, at every age.

Learning never stops at Creekside! 📚🐶

Dr. Jackson recently gathered with our team to discuss a patient being treated for heartworm disease, using the case as an opportunity to review how heartworms develop, the impact they have on a pet’s body, and the importance of prevention.

Did you know heartworm disease is spread by mosquitoes? Just one mosquito bite can transmit heartworm larvae to a dog, and the disease can cause serious damage to the heart, lungs, and blood vessels before symptoms are even noticeable.

By continuing to learn from real cases, we can provide the best possible care for every pet who walks through our doors. The best protection against heartworm disease is year-round prevention. If you have questions about keeping your pet protected, we’re here to help!

Tiny chip. Big peace of mind. 🏠✨ With the 4th of July around the corner and one of the busiest times of year for lost pets - now is the perfect time to make sure your pet’s microchip information is up to date.

Only 6 in 10 microchips are registered. If your pet already has a microchip, we can scan it to help you verify the information linked to it. If they aren’t microchipped yet, our team is happy to help before the holiday festivities begin.
