The Purdue Agricultural Council is a student organization run by approximately 20 undergraduates in various College of Agriculture majors, with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. The members work as a cohesive unit towards one goal: promoting unity throughout the college. Unity amongst all members of the college, both students and faculty, is accomplished by providing educational enrichment
and promoting social interaction. Some notable events include beginning of semester socials and leadership development opportunities. What students typically remember most about the council are the annual events it puts on. Some long standing traditions are the Ice Cream and Hot Chocolate Socials. However, within the past five years the Moonlight Pancake Breakfast and Leaders Retreat have come to be high profile events. As the council has gained popularity, its reach has expanded. No longer are all events exclusive to the CoA. Due to generous supporters both at the university and in the agriculture industry the council is able to reach students and faculty throughout the entire university, not just those on “the south side of State Street”. As the council’s capacity continues to grow it looks forward to new opportunities ahead. From growing long standing traditions to expanding its reach across campus, the work of the outstanding leaders on the council will be sure to impress.
