We can honor our dogs’ individuality by choosing the strategies and tactics they find most fun and fulfilling. Experiment! Play!

When you think about it it’s actually bananas that humans most often go the route of trying to teach dogs to understand US. Dogs speak breath, tone, energy, sounds, smell, body language.

DID YOU KNOW dogs are BORN knowing how to read human facial expressions.

When we are unregulated and reactive - they feel that - and it affects them tremendously.

Try a 5-10 minute training session with no words. Smile at your dog. Celebrate them.

Run a little experiment and the results may surprise you!

Really puts it into perspective.

Your dog is a limited-time offer. One day you’ll say you’d give anything for another day with your dog.

That day is today.

Who do you want to be? How do you want to show up for them? Do you want more freedom, stronger trust, better play, or peace? What action can you take to show up for your dog/s in that way today? What can you do to take one step closer?

If you’re scrolling and your dog is in the same space as you, consider setting the phone down and ask them what they want to do today. Show up. 💛

I have lists that I switch out seasonally of activities that make sense based on the weather. 5 lists total, with the 5th being an “anytime” list for things that are high priority for you and that you can practice indoors.

How I did it:

1. Brain dump every possible goal or activity you want to practice or explore with your dog/s

2. Ask yourself if there are any that are “maybe later” but that you aren’t super driven to do currently. Cross those off. If you truly want to do them, they’ll resurface later. Don’t clutter your lists!

3. Highlight your top 3-5 Priorities/Activities.

4. Make 5 lists from your master list. One for each season and an “anytime”

5. Place your 3-5 priorities on the correct seasonal list. There may be some things that show up in multiple seasons, but if it’s every season, it goes on the “anytime” list. You can choose your next 3-5 priorities from here or just sort out the rest of your list if it’s not super long.

6. Keep only the Anytime list and the current season’s list somewhere you can see it!
