Regarding Sunni Joy Corder:

June 20th Sunni checked in with us at 9:23am she checked out on June 23rd at 3:16pm

Report cards were sent to the owner on the 20th at 2:27pm, 21st at 12:07pm , 22nd at 9:48am with no report card being sent on the 23rd due to Sunni scheduled to check out. No swelling was present on any of the report cards that were sent. There was a picture taken on June 23rd at 11:18am of Sunni which showed the swelling- we will take 100% ownership for staff not noticing. It was unacceptable and we are handling the situation with more training and new structures implemented. In no way shape or form are we denying the fact that there was a mistake made although it did not go on for days. It was present the morning of June 23rd.

In regards to the excessive weight loss I spoke with Dr. Butcher June 30th at 5:09pm during our call I asked if he could inform me of Sunni Corders weight on June 19th at her well check he informed me she was 64lbs when she arrived in his office on the 23rd she was 62lbs- I asked him if that was considered excessive weight loss and he informed me 2 lbs fluctuate as some dogs don’t always eat the best when boarding.

I then informed him that we were told if she was not picked up that day she would not have made it to the following day his response was “That is extreme exaggeration she was not near death nor did I say she dying” he stated she was moving very slow was sick but not close to dying.

I then asked if she had any puncture wounds as we were informed it was a snake bite and he said no puncture wounds were visible.

I then asked if he by chance took a biopsy as we were under the assumption it was an infected area he stated no due to it being an Edema it was swelling so no biopsy could be made. He informed me it was not an injury- edema gives reaction type of swelling.

I have included the report Dr. Butcher wrote after our discussion on the summary below. She was not hospitalized as she was not critical and was treated as an outpatient.

Many things that were shared were inaccurate based on what the vet stated in his report. The one thing that we are not again denying is that staff missed the swelling and we are extremely apologetic for the situation that occurred. Although we can not go back in time we have offered reimbursement of vet bills, refunds and expressed our sincere apologies for the situation and ensured it would be corrected and new polices and procedures will be implemented. Unfortunately this was a freak accident and one that unfortunately could not have been prevented other than staff noticing the concerns.

Please also understand that we can not fix any problems that our clients do not make us aware of.

We are extremely thankful that Sunni is doing much better and will make a full recovery and through it all we have been praying for her.

We truly do have the best interest in heart for all the animals in our care and as Henry Ford says “The only real mistake is the one which we learn nothing”

We are thankful for those that have reached out and those that continue to support us even through the hard times.

We are well aware of the allegations and information regarding the Corders. We’ve been in contact with them since time of pickup and the owners and management are diligently working to get more details around the treatment and information from the vet. We will update this thread as the investigation provides more information.
