If your pet’s got the runs, let’s keep this short, sweet, and easy on the stomach:

🐾 Timing matters: If it lasts more than a day, there’s blood, your pet seems tired/“off,” or it’s a puppy or kitten, call us. Little bodies dry out fast.
💧 Hydration > food: Skip meals for a short break, but water is non-negotiable.
🍕 Investigate the crime scene: Trash snacks, yard “treats,” or mystery meals are usual suspects.
🍗 Go bland: Boiled chicken and rice = tummy reset for dogs. (Exotics? Don’t DIY! Rabbits, birds, and reptiles need species-specific care, so call us first.)

Pro tip: Grab an old towel… and your sense of humor. You’ll need both. 😅

Every Step Tells Us Something!

Did you know? At our animal rehabilitation center, we use slow-motion video to evaluate every patient’s gait and movement.

Those tiny details that are easy to miss with the naked eye can tell us a lot about how your pet is moving, where they may be compensating, and what areas need support.

🎥 We record their movement
🔎 We carefully evaluate their gait
📋 We use what we learn to create a custom rehabilitation plan for that individual patient

Because no two pets—or their injuries—are exactly alike. 💙

Our goal is to help every patient move more comfortably, confidently, and functionally, one step at a time.

Personalized care. Purposeful movement. Better quality of life.

✂️🐾 Nail Trimming 101: How to Keep Your Pet from Filing a Complaint.

1. Start slow. Let your pet sniff the clippers first. Treats = trust. 🍪

2. Good lighting is key. You want to see the “quick” (that pink part inside the nail) so you don’t clip it, unless you enjoy drama and a little blood. 💅😬

3. Tiny trims, often. It’s not a race! A little at a time is safer (and less likely to make your dog question your life choices).

4. Keep styptic powder nearby. It’s the “oops” kit every pet parent needs.

Pro tip: If your pet wiggles more than a toddler on a sugar high, call us! We’ve got the tools and the teamwork to get it done safely.

☀️ Hot dogs are great. Overheated pets? Not so much. When temps climb, heatstroke can sneak up fast on dogs, cats and our exotic friends (looking at you, bunnies, birds, reptiles 🦎).

Watch for the uh-oh signs:
🐶 Marathon-level panting
🤤 Drool worthy of a steak commercial
😵‍💫 Wobbling, weakness, or acting “off”
👅 Bright red gums or tongue
🚨 Vomiting or collapse = Emergency time!

If the sidewalk would burn your feet, it’ll burn theirs. Exotics need extra care too: good ventilation, proper temps, and no direct sun. When in doubt, give us a call, we’d rather answer a quick question than treat a heat emergency. 🐾❤️

Essential oils + pets = proceed with serious sniff-side caution 👃🐾

🚫 Hard Pass Oils
Tea tree, eucalyptus, citrus, pine, peppermint, cinnamon, ylang ylang. These can irritate or be toxic, especially when diffused or applied.

✅ Maybe, but Gently
Lavender or chamomile can be safer, but only in well-ventilated spaces and never directly on your pet.

🦜 Exotic Pet Parents, Extra Important: Birds, rabbits, reptiles, and pocket pets are much more sensitive. Oils can be dangerous fast. When in doubt, skip it. Still unsure? Give us a call before turning your living room into a spa. We love calm vibes, just not at your pet’s expense 😉

Surgery’s over. Now it’s your turn to be Head Nurse, Fun Police, and Treat Distributor 🐾😅
Here’s the Wendell-approved recovery rundown:

🩹 Cone = Non-Negotiable
🚫 No Zoomies, No Olympics
👀 Watch the Incision
🛁 Baths Are on Pause
💊 Meds Matter
🦜 Exotic Pet Parents: Quiet time, warm temps, and strict activity limits are extra important for birds, rabbits, reptiles, and pocket pets.

Healing takes energy. With a little rest and a lot of love, your pet will be back to their usual chaos in no time ❤️
