Some horses tell you exactly how they feel.

Flirt has decided Firewater Equine is a safe place to rest, relax, and let Dr. Loe do his work. We love seeing feedback like this because comfort matters just as much as treatment.

Thank you, Kristin, for trusting Firewater Equine with Flirt’s care.

Great equine veterinary care starts long before the treatment begins.

It starts with a calm hand, a steady presence, and the ability to understand what a horse is saying without a word being spoken.

Dr. Loe’s background as a veterinarian, farrier, and college professor gives him a rare perspective on equine care. He understands the mechanics, the behavior, the movement, and the importance of teaching the next generation how to approach horses with skill, patience, and respect.

Because compassion is not just part of the visit. It is part of the standard.

At Firewater Equine, every horse is met with patience, knowledge, and a deeper understanding of what they need to feel safe, supported, and cared for.

If your horse needs thoughtful, experienced care, contact Firewater Equine to schedule an appointment.

Shockwave therapy with PulseVet is one of the tools Dr. Loe uses to support comfort, performance, and recovery in horses.

In this reel, Dr. Loe explains how PulseVet shockwave therapy can help increase blood flow, support pain relief, and encourage the body’s natural healing response. It may also be a valuable option before competitions when the goal is to help horses feel and move their best.

At Firewater Equine, every treatment starts with the horse in front of us. We look at movement, comfort, workload, and the job that horse is being asked to do, then build care around what makes the most sense.

Have questions about PulseVet shockwave therapy for your horse? Give us a call and let’s talk through it.

Hammy’s Adventure: The Unplanned Journey Home 🐾

Hammy recently decided clinic life was getting a little too predictable, so he took off on an adventure none of us approved, scheduled, or emotionally prepared for.

Somewhere along the way, our favorite Firewater mascot hopped a ride, possibly with a client, possibly with a construction truck from next door, and ended up about 4 miles from home.

For days, the kind folks who found him could hear meowing, but they couldn’t find the mystery cat. They don’t have cats. They do, however, have a doggie door.

And on day 7, in true Hammy fashion, he skipped the formal introduction, marched himself through that doggie door, and woke them up.

Startling? Yes.
Iconic? Also yes.

We’re so thankful for the people who helped bring Hammy’s adventure to a safe ending and even more thankful to have him back where he belongs. His days of “seeing the world” are hopefully behind him, but knowing Hammy, we’ll be keeping a much closer eye on the travel arrangements around here.

Welcome home, Hammy. Your clinic crew missed you. 🐱💛

Planning a visit to Firewater Equine? We know your day does not stop just because your horse has an appointment.

A typical session for acupuncture and a minor chiropractic adjustment is usually quick and efficient, giving Dr. Loe time to evaluate your horse, provide targeted care, and help address areas of tension, restriction, or discomfort.

And yes, we thought about the trailer situation too.

Our facility is designed with plenty of room to pull through the driveway, so you do not have to back up, squeeze through tight turns, or perform a full rodeo in the parking lot just to get in and out.

Bring your horse, give them the care they need, and get back to your day with less stress.

Firewater Equine has grown, but our foundation hasn’t changed.

As we continue expanding our services to offer a more complete approach to equine care, we want to be clear about one thing: yes, we still offer podiatry services.

Dr. Paul Loe’s work in equine podiatry remains a key part of Firewater Equine. From therapeutic shoeing support to focused care, proper hoof balance and function are still at the heart of helping horses move, perform, and feel their best.

Our services may be growing, but our focus remains the same: practical, informed care built around the whole horse.

To schedule podiatry, chiropractic care, acupuncture, or shockwave therapy, contact Firewater Equine.

We’re not saying Firewater Equine has the cutest staff members in North Texas, but we’re also not not saying it. 🐾🐮

Height matters in certain pony classes.

What can get overlooked is how a pony is standing, loading, and carrying themselves when they are measured.

A pony that is tight through the back, guarded through the shoulders, sore, or compensating somewhere else may not stand as square or as relaxed as they normally would.

Chiropractic care with Dr. Paul Loe focuses on helping the horse move and stand more naturally by addressing restrictions and supporting proper function.

For owners, trainers, and exhibitors working close to the line, proper body care is an important part of responsible management.

At Firewater Equine, we like our patients comfortable enough to relax throughout their treatment.

And some take the phrase “take a load off” a little more literally than others. 😅
