🐾 **COOPER NEEDS OUR HELP 🐾**
We’re asking our friends and supporters for help with **Cooper**, one of the rescue dogs in the care of **MRK9 Inc.**

We have now received an estimate from Partners of $1,133–$1,179, bringing Cooper's veterinary expenses to approximately $1,964.65–$2,010.65 — and we still don't know whether additional treatment will be needed once we have answers.

Cooper was seen at **Mid Atlantic Veterinary Hospital**, where his veterinary bill totaled **$831.65**. Because of his condition, they referred him to **Partners Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center in Frederick, MD** for further testing and evaluation.

At this point, we don’t know what additional testing or treatment will be needed, and we do not yet have an estimate from Partners. We will update everyone as soon as we know more.
As a nonprofit rescue, unexpected veterinary expenses can add up very quickly. We are asking for donations to help cover Cooper’s **$831.65 bill already incurred**, along with whatever additional testing and treatment may be necessary at Partners.

We apologize, over the last 2 days we made the decision not to bring in any new clients. Why? Betsy Stevens had to leave town for a family emergency. At the same time we had issues with our scheduling software and accounting software due to a computer issue. These issues have been corrected. All clients are being contacted as quickly as possible. Operations have returned to normal and we are now accepting new clients. Again, we apologize. We have taken steps to ensure these issues do not happen again. Thank you all for your patience and understanding..

⚠️ PENNSYLVANIA PET TRAVEL ALERT ⚠️

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has issued a quarantine order related to New World Screwworm.

At this time, dogs and cats originating from Texas and New Mexico cannot be transferred, sold, adopted, or fostered into Pennsylvania until the quarantine is lifted.

• Privately owned dogs returning to Pennsylvania with their owners from affected areas must comply with the Department's requirements.
• Health certificates (CVIs) originating from affected quarantine areas will be rejected by the PA Department of Agriculture.
• Animals already brought into Pennsylvania in violation of the order may be required to leave the Commonwealth.

If you are planning to travel, relocate, adopt, rescue, or board a pet from these areas, please review the quarantine requirements carefully before making arrangements.
