It’s been almost 7 weeks since I lost Astrid. Loosing her the way I did honestly broke something in me, she was the first goat I ever purchased, the goat that made me excited about owning them. It’s bothered me so much to the point where I’ve decided to sell out of my remaining goats. I will just be keeping drama, and the 2 doeling kids we had born this year, and my buck Noah, as I promised his previous owner a forever home and I will stand on that. I love my goats so much, but I had never lost a goat the way I lost her. She was a huge pain in the ass most days but I still loved and cared about her. yes, I had her listed for sale for a few weeks prior, but she wasn’t for sale to just anyone, and the price she was listed for was honestly not a justifiable price, and I knew that. I knew she wouldn’t sell because deep down I didn’t think I could continue owning goats without her on this farm, with me. Since she has been gone it has slowly been picking away at me. Well I finally broke the other night while holding her daughter Ana, and cried all over again. Im so thankful I have a little piece of her left, but I am ready to close this chapter.

I have 2 adga registered proven does, and one unrelated unregistered( can be AGS registered, but not ADGA) buckling. Clover is solid black with white facial frosting and brown eyes, Eva,the other is gold/brown with a flashy white face blaze and blue eyes, both without horns.buckling is light cream with flashy spotting, blue eyed, and naturally hornless, they’d make an incredible breeding trio, we sell our babies easily for $400 each with their genetics. My asking prices for the does are what I paid for them, and those prices are firm. The genetics and health backing these does are phenomenal so they are worth it, plus they are both so sweet and were previous bottle babies so fully in your pocket. Roman, the buckling, was one of our spring bottle babies, so he is also very sweet and in your pocket.

At this time I am not looking to split them up,

I paid $400 for clover, $400 for Eva, and Roman is generously discounted to $200. Clean herd (not tested but i have only ever purchased from annually, fully clear tested herds.)

Does he look harlequinized to anyone else? His face kinda looks darker on one side than the other and his back feet are different colored His grandma on moms side is harlequinized lynx.

Also ignore his nose apparently momma nipped him at some point between yesterday evening and today 🤦🏼‍♀️

Jeez, really Clem, are you trying to give me a heart attack???

Clementine decided to loose her s**te today. I split her and Twix up, not for any bad reasons, but because she will not breed and I figured maybe being by herself for a week or 2 would get her system going so she’d be interested in a man again, nope! she started freaking out, running back and forth in the cage, thumping, loosing her literal mind because she was by herself, even though she’s right beside one of her other besties. I yell at her to quit and tap the side of her cage to try and get the message through, because literally it’s not that deep, and I didn’t want her hurting herself. She seemed to get the point and just chilled in her litterbox complaining and thumping away- whatever, she’s not bull through a china shop rampaging, I can tolerate grumpy thumping . A couple minutes later, my cat, who she’s literally grown up around, jumps up on their stand to get to the window behind the cages, because he loves sitting there to watch outside and get the breeze when I have the window up (with a screen down, so he can’t get out lol) and she again looses her s**t and I watched this little psycho from the couch, SLAM into the side of her cage and then flop over and start kicking, screaming, and flailing. I swore on my life one of my favorite nethies just killed herself. I lost my s**t, ran to her cage and immediately got her out, held her, pet her, checked for breathing and heart sounds, thank god those were both there and clear/normal( a little elevated, but not off sounding) . I held her on my bed for a little while so she could calm down after she came out her daze, and immediately put her and Twix back together. She’s been quiet since, no idea if it’s because she tried to check her self out and now
Her dome hurts or because she’s happy Twix (who doesn’t even like her!! 🤦🏼‍♀️) is back with her. I cannot tolerate this type of mental abuse from my rabbits rn, this week truly has been enough, but Clementine thought otherwise

Soo anyway, any advice on what to do with her for the next few days? padded cell, maybe? Bouncy house? Bubble wrap, styrofoam, and packing peanuts? She’s clearly hemorrhaged or did something with how swollen and red that 3rd eyelid is. I have meloxicam on hand, so she’s dosed up for pain. Do anxiety meds exist for rabbits? 🙈🤦🏼‍♀️
