‼️TOMORROW IS OUR ADOPTION EVENT‼️

We know it is going to be hot! The health and comfort of our dogs is important to us, so if you plan on coming to meet our dogs, please come early in case we need to end the event early.

We are scheduled to be at Bone A Fide Dog Training from 10am - 2pm, but looking at the weather forecast, we might shut things down around 1 pm.

Our dogs are as excited as we are, and we hope to see you tomorrow!

Come out and meet these eight incredible rescue dogs we have available for adoption who are searching for their forever homes!

🐕 Featured Pups:

TIMBER: A smart, treat-motivated Shepherd/Husky mix with stunning wolf-like coloring who is dog friendly and loves playing in the dog pool.

RICKY: An incredibly smart, dog friendly, problem-solving Shepherd/Husky mix who loves being challenged and thrives when given a job to do.

RAVEN: A gorgeous, athletic, solid black friendly German Shepherd who focuses beautifully on her handler and loves playing fetch.

LARRY: A large, sweet German Shepherd mix who is great with other dogs, loves outdoor adventures and playing tug, and adores quiet cuddles.

MAX: A calm, handsome Shepherd/Pyrenees mix who knows commands like sit, down, and paw, and would make an excellent walking or hiking partner.

MEADOW: A beautiful young Australian Kelpie mix with unique mismatched eyes (one brown, one ice blue!) who is very athletic, gets along well with other dogs and is completely cat-friendly!

EMBER: A young, highly social, cat-friendly smooth Border Collie who excels at dog sports like Barn Hunt and loves brain games.

POPS: A big, handsome 92-pound Pit Bull mix who walks beautifully on a loose leash and is a total lover and couch potato.

🐾 Meet Larry @ Our Adoption Event 🐾

If you are in search of a dog who will be your shadow, your search is over because Larry is your boy!

Larry came to AWW from the Stanislaus Shelter after being found as a stray. We aren’t quite sure why his owner didn’t reclaim him, because he is so people friendly and cuddly, who wouldn’t want this boy?

Larry’s biggest issue has been jumping on people. We sent him to Kari at Bone A Fide for board and train to correct the unwanted behavior. It took a little time, but with consistent corrections, he now bounces on his front feet instead of jumping up.

This boy is a problem solver. If you’re worried about shedding, regular brushing works, but he likes being vacuumed! He did well with older children, and due to his size, we won’t place him in a family with kids under the age of twelve. He also learned to play with puppies and did well!

🐾 Meet Ricky @ Our Adoption Event 🐾

Oh Ricky, you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind!

We know that’s not the name in the song, but still applies to our boy, Ricky!

Ricky came to AWW after being found all alone in a field in Patterson. We think he was abandoned after outgrowing his cute fluffy puppy stage and not being trained. He absolutely loves people, but he had no idea how big and strong he was, or how to use his body. He was hard to handle, but he wanted to please from day one.

Fast forward to now. Ricky spent a month with Kari @ Bone A Fide for board and train. He is still big and strong, but he has learned the calmer he is, the easier it is to receive human affection. And he loves human affection!

This boy is super smart and learns very quickly. He needs someone who can handle his size and respects Ricky’s need for a partner, not just an owner. The sky is the limit with the right person.

🐾 Meet Pops @ Our Adoption Event 🐾

If you are looking for the biggest, most gentle giant… a sweet puppy in a big dog’s body… we have just what you have been looking for!

Pops weighs in right at 100 pounds. Don’t let his size intimidate you, because all this boy wants is cuddles and kindness. His world was turned upside down when his owner suddenly passed, and he found himself at the shelter waiting for someone to notice what a good boy he was.

Pops came to AWW from the Stanislaus Animal Shelter. He is a Pit Bull with some sprinkles of Great Dane and Boxer.

Pops loves car rides, going for walks, and taking long naps. His whole body wiggles when you approach him to give him pets. He’s not a fan of water at all, but he will gladly take any and all snacks you offer!

🐾 Meet Raven @ Our Adoption Event 🐾

Have you ever wanted a dog who will actually play ball with you? You know… you throw it, and they bring it back? If so, Raven is your girl! She brings the ball back every single time because she doesn’t want the game to end!

Raven came to AWW from the Stockton Animal Shelter. She is a gorgeous solid black German Shepherd who is as sweet as she is athletic.

As you can see, Raven is an active girl and needs an active family who is excited to have her join in their adventures. And whatever you do, don’t forget her ball!

🐾 Meet Max @ Our Adoption Event 🐾

Max is about as chill as they come, so if you are in the need of a walking companion, he’d be more than happy to be by your side.

Max came to AWW from the Stanislaus Animal Shelter. He is a Great Pyrenees/Australian Shepherd cross with the floofiest tail. He got a bad wrap at the shelter when a bite was reported with no documentation to back it up. He loves being bathed and brushed and spending time with people.

Max is always down for a car ride or a leisurely stroll. He isn’t jumpy, probably because it takes too much energy. Rolling around in the grass is about as excited as he gets!

🐾 Meet Timber @ Our Adoption Event 🐾

If you’re looking for a dog who will be the life of the party, Timber is your boy!

People friendly and dog friendly, you’ll never have a dull moment with Timber by your side. Want to go for a hike? Timber will be ready. Love going to the lake? Timber will beat you to the water. In the mood to chill in front of the TV? Be ready to give up one of your legs for his pillow!

Timber came to AWW from the Stockton Animal Shelter. He is a Husky/Shepherd cross with the most gorgeous coat coloring; almost wolf-like.

Timber loves everyone and is pretty chill, but since he plays hard and frequently gets the zoomies, due to his size, he would be better suited in a home with kids twelve and older. He is an active boy and needs someone active who can keep up.

🐾 Meet Meadow @ Our Adoption Event 🐾

Meadow is a super happy young Australian Kelpie mix who is living life to its fullest!

Meadow came to AWW from the Stanislaus Animal Shelter in March of 2025. She has been living in one of our board member’s homes since then with her four resident dogs, JoJo before she was adopted, and Ember before she went to her current foster home.

As a herding dog, Meadow is extremely athletic. She has great toy drive, and she also has a great off switch when inside. She is potty trained, crate trained, and cat friendly.

Meadow likes children, but she can be jumpy when excited and would be better suited in a home with kids twelve and older. She will need both mental and physical challenges to keep her happy personality front and center.
