The Alaska Cat Café is a full-service coffee shop with delicious food and drinks that bridges local rescue groups and cat lovers, creating a welcoming space to enjoy coffee, meet adoptable cats and kittens, and support community adoptions. We PARTNER with rescues to help their cats and kittens find homes. Our owners are experienced and philanthropic members of the community who also care deeply ab
out helping cats.
2. How donations work
The café can receive donations to support our nonprofit partners. Money made from food, drinks, and visits is used to:
Keep the café open
Care for the cats and kittens
3. The Cat Cottage (our nonprofit)
The Cat Cottage is our nonprofit rescue group, mostly for kittens. They work with vets and trained helpers. Their board members have experience running rescues and caring for cats.
4. What we do NOT do
We do NOT take drop offs of adult cats. Adult cats in our lounge are received from trusted rescues only. We can give you a list of rescues to call if you need help with an adult cat. We do not make the final decision on who adopts a cat. The rescue partners decide that.
5. What we CAN do
We can sometimes accept kittens as drop offs for The Cat Cottage, but only if you contact us first. We help facilitate adoptions by taking applications on behalf of the rescues.
6. Important information about kittens
Kittens can get adopted very fast. Just because you see one on our social media does not mean it is available right now. We ask that you visit the lounge at least one to meet the cats and kittens before deciding who to adopt. Posts may show new arrivals not yet in the lounge or resident cats of the lounge, not just adoptable cats. Please read each post carefully.
7. The Cat Lounge
The Cat Lounge is separate from the café. You can visit cats and kittens for:
$10 for 30 minutes per person
$15 for 1 hour per person
This fee is low compared to other cat cafés and helps pay for care and staff. Rules:
Limited number of people per visit (safety for cats and people). Children under 12 must be with an adult. This is not babysitting and not a pet store. Everyone must follow rules to keep the cats safe.
8. Private visits
If you want the lounge to yourself or for a party, reserve all the spots for the timeframe you would like. We are working on expanding upstairs for a quiet lounge area.
9. Our mission
We know we will not always make everyone happy. But everything we do is about love, mercy, and saving cats. Without fees and donations, we could not do this.
10. How to contact us
Message us on Facebook or use the contact form on our website if you have questions or concerns. Thank you for supporting cats and helping us continue this mission. ❤️🐾
