We are thrilled to announce that exotics specialist veterinarian Zana Ransom from the Fayette Veterinary Hospital will be joining us at the West Virginia Reptile Expo - Charleston on June 14th! This will be a great opportunity for folks with exotic pets and other critters to meet a seasoned exotic pet vet who is committed to helping our local community with their less-than-common animal friends. It can be tough to locate an exotics specialist in WV, so we hope that inviting Zana to meet with guests at the WVRE will give folks the opportunity to form a strong point of contact for their critters' health and wellness needs!

Wrapped Up Reptiles will be at the West Virginia Reptile Expo - Charleston on June 14th with a limited selection of beautiful bearded dragons! These dragons are all partial red monster, some are leatherback, they're all hypo, and all of them have stunning coloration! Plus they are all possibly het translucent.

It's easy to keep your critters safe by staying aware of your surroundings while transporting your animal friend, and planning ahead to keep temps mild! The June 14 West Virginia Reptile Expo - Charleston will likely be on a warm day, and while we will have cold AC inside the venue, we wanted to share some tips on safe animal transport on a hot day to help keep critters protected on their way to their new homes!

Our best advice for summer expo animal transport is to follow these 3 steps...

1) keep an insulated container with you (a soft cooler works best) to prevent sudden spikes in temperature
2) always pre-cool your vehicle before putting any animal inside and let it run for long enough to bring the inside to a cool, comfortable temperature
3) keep animals out of direct sunlight and provide as much shade as you can, especially on your walk to your vehicle and while inside on the ride home

If you don't have a cooler, following steps two and three should be sufficient to keep your animals safe during transport.

Temperatures in cars can soar when the sun is out, and deli cups can heat up very quickly from sunlight.

Reptiles and other exotic creatures all have specific temperature requirements, and none of them are comfortable being overheated! Even desert animals in the wild have to regulate their temperature to prevent injury from heat.

We have an exciting addition to our show day giveaway line up! Guests will have a chance at taking how this adorable jumping spider + a custom enclosure, both from Varmint Market!

There will be three giveaways total at the June 14 West Virginia Reptile Expo - Charleston , and the VIP giveaway winner gets first pick of the three prize packs + $250 in showbucks! Guests can also enter to win a beautiful leopard gecko + $150 in showbucks right now in our pre-show giveaway, which is free to enter and can be found by scrolling back on our page. ☺️

WV's longest-running reptile and exotics show is back at the WVSU Wilson Student Union in Charleston on June 14th for a 100% booked full West Virginia Reptile Expo - Charleston! Get ready to browse literally 1000s of reptiles, amphibians, birds, pocket pets, inverts, fish, plants, supplies, feeders, artwork, oddities, and so much more! There will be lots to see and learn, and guests can even take home a new pet and all the supplies needed to care for them!

To celebrate this upcoming WVRE, we've picked this gorgeous leopard gecko from our personal collection at Almost Heaven Herps for one very lucky guest to go home with, so you don't have to wait on show day giveaways for a chance to win a beautiful new reptile friend! 🐍

We've selected this beautiful ✨Tremper Albino White & Yellow het Eclipse Osiris line leopard gecko✨ to be given to one lucky guest here on our page, to be picked up on June 14th at the WVRE Charleston! Our geckos from the Osiris line are part of our supergiant projects, and although this male is not guaranteed to be a supergiant, he is quite big and his great grandfather Osiris is the largest recorded leopard gecko!
