Kanawha Obedience Training Club KOTC Serving the greater Charleston, WV area since the 1950's. We offer classes and AKC trial and events. K.O.T.C. d) Encourage the training of judges.

We host a one-ring obedience and rally trial in mid-April each year.

Entry for fall classes is now open at www.kanawhaotc.com/classes . Group classes are at the Dunbar Rec Center on Sunday afternoons starting Sept. 7. They run for 8 weeks (45 minute classes) and cost $90. Certain discounts are available. We train you to train your dog.

We hold classes twice a year starting in early January and early September. Online registration opens one month prior to class start date. Classes are ‘first come, first served’ so please register early.

Vendors wanted: On Oct. 10, 11, 12, we are holding an AKC Fast CAT event at Par Four Family Entertainment Center in Hurricane, WV. Fast CAT is the timed 100 yard dash for dogs. We draw entrants from the tri-state area (WV, KY, OH). Up to 100 dogs will be entered each day. Note: Some owners run multiple dogs.

We are offering free outdoor vending opportunities for dog-related goods or services. For example, leashes, collars, treats, toys, tugs, beds, clothing, etc. If you're interested, please email [email protected] with your product specialty for further details.

IMPORTANT: The venue for the 2025 KOTC Fast CAT event has changed to Par Four Family Entertainment Center at 30 Apollo Lane in Hurricane, WV.

The Dunbar property was sold, and we were unable to find a suitable field in that area. We will still have the best Fast CAT event EVER! See you Oct. 10, 11, and 12 for Fast CAT fun!
