Very proud of our team. Owl Ridge was happy to present at Burlington Branch Knox County Library.
We had a packed house and a whole lot of bird lovers.
We are so lucky to work with raptors and want others to love and protect birds of prey. Let’s all work together to conserve and protect our wildlife.
We CAN make a difference.❤️

Exciting Things Are Happening at Owl Ridge Raptor Center!

We’re thrilled to be part of the Farmland Raptor Project 🦉🌾

These outreach programs allow us to team up with wonderful conservation partners, connect with local farmers and landowners, and help create a brighter future for birds of prey.

Big things are ahead, and we’re so excited to be part of it!

Please welcome Cletus and Rocky. Both have eye injuries and signs of head trauma.
We are grateful to the finders and all who helped get these littles into care.

Extra big thanks to Raven and Wolf transport. They are life savers many times over.🦉❤️

Barred Owl release last evening. “Psyche” was released by her finders last night in her home territory after recovering from a car strike.
We wish her a long and happy life.
Big thanks to her rescuers for providing her a second chance.🦉

Owl Ridge is rolling!!!
We learned about laser therapy yesterday and its many health benefits.
We treated a Bald Eagle, Barred Owl and Eastern Screech.
We also received a new little Screech (Owlison Kraus) with a broken femur.
We are hopeful the University of TN can repair.
And!!! This beautiful Tundra Peregrine arrived.
He’s super skinny and has tendon damage. His name is Orion.
Let’s see what we can do for him.❤️

Did you know many birds of prey are monogamous and mate for life?
These Great Horned Owls are likely reaffirming their pair bonds and preparing for raising a family.
They will likely be nesting around February here in Tennessee.
Keep your ears open as there will be a lot of talking between mates this time of year.❤️

"Grassland-dependent raptors, like the American Kestrel, American Barn Owl, are rapidly declining," said Albrecht.
