We always say when you wanna find out what you’re feeding take your dogs out of their comfort zone! Nothing is more out of most dogs comfort zones like baying on a rock face on the side of the Appalachian Mountains! Get out there, test your dogs in different terrains, and hunt with new folks! You may be surprised by your dogs in a positive way or negative way but it’s a learning experience for all! Props to these ole hounds!

Here’s another blast from the past. Remember everything we caught came out. Who on hear knows…The level of violence….to be on a root rake hoisted up above the trees and briars. Holding on for dear life with one hand and holding a pi**ed off tied up wild boar hog with the other. Ronnie couldn’t see the ground or where he was going because it was too thick. I was pointing the way going in. Every dip, stump hole and log you drive over is magnified 10 fold if not more…. We must have been slap hog crazy!

Back before cell cams… or Any trail cameras for that matter. No cell phones. No gps. No 4 wheelers; And If you did hunt off of a wheeler you were a sissy. Didn’t even think about getting lost. Just plain old fashion show up… walk and find sign and go…Dogs ate what we caught. Well what we didn’t want. Usually boiled up hog heads for them, and they loved it. Somewhere around Sparta, 1995. Rabbit, Jonny, Steve, Scott. Just about every hunt was like this. Stacked up!
