Heat Safety for Your Furry Friends! 🐾🌞

As the temperatures climb, remember our beloved pets rely on us to keep them safe and cool!

Here are some essential tips to protect your pets from the summer heat:

Hydration is Key: Always provide plenty of fresh, clean water, both indoors and outdoors. Add ice to their water bowl to keep it cool.

Seek Shade & Avoid Hot Pavement: Limit walks to the cooler hours of the day (early morning or late evening). Walk on grass or shaded paths and test the pavement with your hand – if it's too hot for you to hold for five seconds, it's too hot for your pet's paws.

Never Leave Pets in Cars: Temperatures inside a parked car can rise to dangerous levels quickly, even with the windows cracked or in the shade.

Provide a Cool Retreat: Ensure your pets have access to shaded areas or air-conditioned spaces to cool down. Cooling mats can also be a great option to help regulate body temperature.

Know the Signs of Heatstroke: Be vigilant for excessive panting, drooling, restlessness, lethargy, or collapse. If you suspect your pet has heatstroke, move them to a cool place, offer water, and seek immediate veterinary care.

Consider Cooling Products: Cooling vests or bandanas can help keep your pet comfortable during outdoor activities.

Phoebe's diagnosis is multicentric lymphoma, a cancer of the white blood cells that travels through the bloodstream rather than attacking a single organ. This type of cancer cannot be treated surgically, only with chemotherapy. The treatments are weekly October.
