Congratulations to Officers Anna & Raider of the Watertown Police Department, Officers Armando and Ryder of Northeastern University, and Officers Allie and Wiley of Bunker Hill Community College, for completing their Therapy Dog certification. These excellent teams previously sailed through their Public Access and Canine Good Citizens tests and work full-time spreading comfort and happiness.

AKC Tricks class is back at Golden Opportunities for Independence. Join in the fun on Wednesday nights November 5th to December 17th, 6:30-7:30pm. (No class November 26th).

Taught by our very own Sue Moran, AKC Tricks class is a great way to boost your dogs' confidence, bond as a team, have fun, and so much more!

There’s an almost endless list of benefits to teaching your dog new tricks. Perhaps most importantly, teaching any behavior using a gentle, positive reinforced based approach is a wonderful way to form a closer, more communicative bond with your dog. One amazing benefit is the more you teach your dog the quicker they learn because your teaching skills improve as does your dog’s ability to understand the training game and learn efficiently.

You will see overall obedience and manners improve. This means you will have a dog who knows fun tricks to show off to friends and family, but also increased confidence.

Trick training is likely to result in better health (as many tricks help build muscle tone and stamina), increased flexibility, balance and concentration. At the same time each new behavior you teach provides you with yet another useful way to channel your dog’s energy into something positive.

👓 Huge thanks to the incredible team at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital for conducting eye exams on 15 of our breeder dogs recently. Your skill, efficiency, and good humor never go unnoticed—especially when a pack of GOFIDOGs takes over the waiting room.

👁️ Annual eye exams, along with hips, elbows, and cardiac screenings, are essential parts of our responsible breeding protocols.
