Review 4/29
If Missy bottled her energy, it would outsell Prozac—she’s basically the human version of it. The second you walk into Chickadee Seed & Feed, you feel like you’ve been personally welcomed into a warm, slightly chaotic (in the best way) animal-loving hug. Missy somehow knows everything—and I mean everything—about pet care. Chickens? Ducks? Dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, horses? She’s your girl. I’m convinced if you brought in a llama or a raccoon she’d still have solid advice and probably a product recommendation ready to go. And let’s talk about the real VIPs: Mooshi and Mango, the shop cats who run the place (Missy just works there, let’s be honest). Bonus points for the days when one or two of her dogs make an appearance—it’s basically a free serotonin boost while you shop. Beyond me loving Chickadee, my kids and husband are just as obsessed. Honestly, I have to budget extra time every time I stop in because I end up chatting with Missy—and somehow even her customers. It’s that kind of place. Prices? Always reasonable. Like… “wait, this is cheaper than Amazon?” reasonable. And at this point, choosing to shop local here instead of big retailers just feels like common sense. Support your community and save money? Done. On a personal level, Missy has also been such an incredible networking partner for my business, which just adds another layer of appreciation on top of everything else. Between the adorable knick-knacks, the unbeatable vibe, and the genuinely good people, we’re seriously so lucky to have a store like Chickadee so close by. And if you’re not shopping there… I mean… respectfully… what are you doing? 🙂
