Nevada Boxer Rescue Boxer Rescue is a nonprofit founded in 2005. We provide a safe, humane sanctuary for abandoned Boxers & other shelter dogs waiting for adoption

Boxer Rescue is a nonprofit organization founded in 2005. Boxers and Buddies provides a safe, humane sanctuary for abandoned Boxers and other breeds who are waiting to be adopted. B&B is funded solely by private donation. Our entire organization is run by a dedicated team of volunteers. Our group works for the love of the breed and to see dogs find homes. Our available dogs come from local shelter

s, from the streets or from owners who turn them in. We are always filled to capacity with scared, confused and very stressed out dogs. They are with us because B&B is their last hope of finding a new life. We are their temporary haven until they are adopted into a loving permanent home. Before they can be adopted, each dog is evaluated for temperament, must be sterilized, microchipped and their shots are updated. B&B has a training program for those dogs who need rehabilitation or have behaviors which need to be modified. B&B stands apart from other rescues by rescuing any Boxer, regardless of age or health. We feel that they are all worthy of a real chance at life. This policy means that we are subject to frequent and expensive veterinarian costs. Medical expenses are only one of the major cost B&B has to pay each year. The cost are endless: food, mortgage, utilities, insurance, shelter fee, and the costs go on and on. Saving lives is not cheap but someone has to do it! It takes over $250,000 each year to keep B&B open. We are constantly seeking funds and support. We need your help. We depend on our donors and our volunteers to keep B&B open to any Boxer in need. We appreciate your compassion by including a rescue Boxer into your life. Please spread the word and continue to support our efforts.

Meet Thorn and Matilda, two stunning Great Danes who could have easily slipped through the cracks. These sweet pups were found listed on Craigslist and thankfully picked up by a kind human who knew they deserved better.

Thorn and Matilda are both underweight and clearly haven’t had the easy start they should have, but they’re now safe and on the path to brighter days. They’ll receive the care they need, including being spayed/neutered before adoption, and lots of TLC while they recover and learn what it means to be loved.

Despite everything, they are gentle, loving, and already showing how special they are. Stories like theirs are exactly why rescue matters and why we step in when others can’t.

Stay tuned as these two begin their journey toward health and happiness.

Because every dog deserves a second chance. These two will be adopted out separately .🐾

Meet Maeven!

Maeven is a sweet, affectionate young girl with a gentle soul and just the right amount of playful sparkle. She may be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, her loving personality shines. She bonds closely with her person and absolutely adores kids.

She’s great with other dogs, has a soft and polite play style, walks nicely on leash, and is crate trained. She’s smart, curious, and has the cutest happy dance when she’s excited.
Maeven is looking for a loving home where she can continue to build confidence and share all the affection she has to give.

She's about 45lbs, is spayed, micro-chipped, and up to date with vaccinations!

Think Maeven might be your perfect match?

Hi, I’m Nutcracker. I’m 11 weeks old, allegedly a terrier mix, and 100 percent certified chaos in a tiny, adorable package. No one knows exactly what I am, but my foster family agrees the mystery only adds to my charm.

I’ve got big puppy energy, a goofy personality, and a strong commitment to playtime. Potty training is a work in progress. Some days I nail it, some days I keep things exciting. Either way, I’m extremely cute.

I’m neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Best bonus? I love kids. Like… full-body wiggles, instant best friends.

Think I might be your missing puzzle piece?

Another happy ending! This time for Plymouth, the Chihuahua.

Plymouth was found as a stray in Porterville, California. At 7 years old and just 10 pounds, he was scared, barking in his kennel, and clearly overwhelmed. Seeing that video broke our hearts. We knew we had to help him find safety and warmth.

A wonderful volunteer stepped up to foster him. Even though Plymouth was terrified and no one knew much about his past, it didn’t take long for love to take over. He never even made it to our website. We placed him on hold while he saw our vet and was neutered.

Today, Plymouth is 100 percent home. And you can see it. The fear is gone, replaced by comfort, trust, and love. He looks like a completely different dog, because he is. Oh, Plymouth, we are so happy for you!

🎶 Chicken wing, chicken wing… yep, it’s back. Sorry. Not sorry.
Meet the last three pups of our snack-themed litter, now 14 weeks old and officially ready to bring the joy home. These pit shepherd mixes have been raised in loving foster homes and it shows.

✨ The lineup
• Bologna – female, playful, happy, and always down for fun
• Hot Dog – male, mellow, sweet, and a total heart-melter
• Macaroni – female, easygoing, social, and everyone’s bestie

All three are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. They’ve also been working on crate training and potty training, because their fosters are rock stars and these pups are excellent students.

These are the last of the litter, which means once they’re gone… that’s it. No encore. No remix. Just three amazing pups waiting for their forever families.

We provide the crates, but YOU provide the hope. 🐾

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re looking back at the hundreds of wagging tails and "freedom rides" that happened this year. At Boxers and Buddies, people often see the dogs, but behind every single rescue is a village of people.

We are 100% volunteer-run and 100% community-funded. That means:
-Our Volunteers are the ones pulling dogs from shelters.
-Our Fosters are the ones teaching "sit" and "stay" in their living rooms.
-Our Donors are the ones paying the vet bills that allow us to say "YES" to the dogs everyone else passed by.

We don't have a massive building or a corporate endowment, we just have you. Thank you for making 2025 a year of second chances.

FYI - this video could have been 10 hours long and we still wouldn't have been able to show how truly grateful we are to the Boxers and Buddies community.

Happy New Years from all of us to all of you!

People often ask us what the best part of rescue is. Is it the wagging tails? The successful adoptions? It’s all of that, but sometimes, it’s the stories that leave us in tears.

We recently received an update from the family of Brown Sugar Latte (now Roxie) that reminded us why we do what we do.

The family had originally planned to bring Roxie home on October 29th, but through a twist of fate, the date was moved up by 13 days. At just 10 weeks old, Roxie was a whirlwind of energy. Her new parents were ready for the challenge, even though their grown children jokingly told them they were "crazy" to take on a puppy at their age. Even Elvis the dog and Merlin the cat seemed to agree!

Life became a blur of late nights and crate training. Roxie’s parents divided and conquered the night shifts to make sure she got her potty breaks. But just one week after coming home, Roxie's nighttime cries were something more.

In the middle of the night on October 24th, Roxie’s mom woke up to her crying. Following Roxie’s lead, her mom found her husband unresponsive on the floor. She immediately called 911. Because Roxie sounded the alarm, dad is home today and doing great.

Looking back, the timing is chilling: If Roxie’s adoption date hadn’t been moved up, she wouldn't have been in that house on October 24th. Today, the "pack" is finally settling in. Elvis and Merlin have officially accepted their new hero sister. As Roxie’s mom told us: “Our kids are so grateful we got this puppy when we did. Otherwise, it would be a very different Christmas this year.”

To Roxie’s family: Thank you for saying "YES" to her. To Roxie: You are the best girl. 🏆❤️
