Boxer Rescue is a nonprofit organization founded in 2005. Boxers and Buddies provides a safe, humane sanctuary for abandoned Boxers and other breeds who are waiting to be adopted. B&B is funded solely by private donation. Our entire organization is run by a dedicated team of volunteers. Our group works for the love of the breed and to see dogs find homes. Our available dogs come from local shelter

s, from the streets or from owners who turn them in. We are always filled to capacity with scared, confused and very stressed out dogs. They are with us because B&B is their last hope of finding a new life. We are their temporary haven until they are adopted into a loving permanent home. Before they can be adopted, each dog is evaluated for temperament, must be sterilized, microchipped and their shots are updated. B&B has a training program for those dogs who need rehabilitation or have behaviors which need to be modified. B&B stands apart from other rescues by rescuing any Boxer, regardless of age or health. We feel that they are all worthy of a real chance at life. This policy means that we are subject to frequent and expensive veterinarian costs. Medical expenses are only one of the major cost B&B has to pay each year. The cost are endless: food, mortgage, utilities, insurance, shelter fee, and the costs go on and on. Saving lives is not cheap but someone has to do it! It takes over $250,000 each year to keep B&B open. We are constantly seeking funds and support. We need your help. We depend on our donors and our volunteers to keep B&B open to any Boxer in need. We appreciate your compassion by including a rescue Boxer into your life. She will need continued guidance as she grows, including socialization, training, and a consistent routine. With the right foundation, she will develop into a confident, well-rounded companion.

Submit an application and our team will contact you within 24 hours. The process includes an interview, home check, and a meet-and-greet (all household dogs must attend). Renters must provide proof that dogs are allowed per their lease.

Come celebrate the grand opening of Kendra Scott at Summit Mall in Reno tomorrow, May 30, from 12:00–2:00 PM and meet some very special Boxers & Buddies pups!

Tom Tom and Snare will be there and are both looking for their forever homes. These adorable puppies are visually impaired, and Snare is expected to become fully blind by the age of one. But don't let that fool you. They are brave, social, playful, happy dogs who are living life to the fullest and proving every day that a disability doesn't define them.
You'll also get to meet Angela and Panini while you're there!

This handsome boy has a big heart, a goofy personality, and loves making new friends. Kahlua is social, playful, and does great with other dogs — he’s respectful of boundaries and loves being part of the fun. Toys, playtime, adventures… he’s all in.

Like many dogs, Kahlua can be a little protective of his favorite toys at times, but he communicates well and continues to thrive with guidance and structure.

Angela is still searching for the family she deserves. This sweet, sensitive 1-year-old Doberman has been decompressing in foster care and slowly starting to let her personality shine. While she can be timid at first, Angela has such a gentle soul and a quiet sweetness that makes you root for her immediately.

She gets along well with other dogs, has done well with cats, is potty trained, and already knows “sit” — especially when treats are involved. 😄 Angela is still building confidence and working on crate training, so she’ll do best with a patient family willing to give her time, consistency, and kindness as she continues to adjust.

Dogs like Angela are truly special. Watching a shy dog learn to trust, feel safe, and blossom into themselves is one of the most rewarding things. We just know she’s going to be an incredible companion for the right person.

Angela doesn’t need perfection — she just needs someone willing to believe in her. ❤️

Meet Sizzle 🖤

At 74 pounds, Sizzle is a big boy with an even bigger heart - part Rottweiler and part lab. This bright, boisterous sweetheart has a way of winning people over almost instantly. He’s friendly with dogs, cats, and kids, and brings a happy, eager-to-learn energy wherever he goes.

Sizzle is thriving in foster care and knows basic commands like sit and down. He’s also crate trained, potty trained, settles nicely when left alone, and is a great eater. With consistency and continued guidance, this boy is going to make an incredible lifelong companion.

Sizzle has an activity level of 3 — playful and energetic without being over the top. He loves being included in whatever his people are doing, whether that’s walks, training, playtime, or just hanging out nearby as your loyal shadow. Sizzle truly just wants to make his people proud and be loved in return.

Still waiting. 💔

Kaida just turned 1 year old… and instead of celebrating in her forever home, she’s still waiting.

And here’s the thing… Kaida is an incredible dog.
She’s:
✨ Sweet and affectionate
✨ Playful and full of life
✨ The perfect mix of fun + cuddle

She’s done everything right.
Now she just needs someone to finally choose her.
