We are so excited for Sour Patch Kids to find his happily ever after. He is the last of his litter to be adopted, and our hearts are full knowing he has finally found his family.

This sweet group of puppies was just hours away from being euthanized when fosters stepped up without hesitation. Because of them, Boxers and Buddies was able to save these lives and give each pup the chance they deserved. And now, they have all found their families!

Happy forever, Sour Patch Kids. You were worth every moment of waiting. 🐾💛

Mayflower is a 1 year 8 month old female Great Dane mix with a gentle soul and a story that tugs at the heart. She wandered onto someone’s property almost a year ago and lived outside alone, hoping for safety and kindness. When the family needed to sell their home, Mayflower had nowhere to go, so she made her way to Boxers and Buddies.

When she first arrived, she was scared and in shock, unsure of what to expect and overwhelmed by everything around her.

Now, we are watching her blossom.

She has slowly learned that people can be kind, that soft beds feel good, and that meals arrive every day without fear. She is also discovering the joy of playing with other dogs and realizing they are not out to get her. Her confidence grows a little more each day.

Mayflower is ready for a family who understands that some dogs bloom quietly, gently, and at their own pace. With patience and love, she will become the loyal, affectionate companion she was always meant to be.

Our Giving Tree is up at Pet Station, and it is glowing with holiday cheer. Visit the Pet Station at 5065 S McCarran Blvd, choose a donation tag, and help us wrap our pups in the love and care they deserve this season.

Do not forget to grab a little goodie for your own dog. Nothing says “happy holidays” like a treat from their favorite human.

And here is a fun fact. When you round up your bill at Pet Station, those extra pennies support local rescues. Boxers and Buddies has felt the love, and we appreciate every tiny bit of kindness.

Come to Petco on topsy Lane in Carson City to come meet Santa, get your photos taken and see some of our dogs for adoption, like Ducky!

We will be here until 3 PM!

Santa photos are a $20 donation to the rescue and saying hi to the dogs for adoption is free !

Hi, it’s me again, Valkyrie. You know, the ridiculously cute puppy who has already lived in more houses than most college students. I may have had a chaotic start, but I’m settling in and learning that life can actually be pretty wonderful.

I’m smart, wiggly, and ready to shine. I’m learning my name, sit, come, and stay, and I’m working hard on potty training because I hear humans are really into that. I love other dogs, kids, and adults, especially the ones who tell me I’m adorable, which is everyone.

Some dogs come back to us through no fault of their own. Tia is a perfectly sweet five and a half year old pup who lost her home simply because her family decided they no longer wanted to care for her after having children. She didn’t misbehave. She didn’t change. She was just left behind.
When dogs like Tia are returned, they can feel confused and unsure, but we make sure they are safe, loved, and supported while we search for a family who will cherish her for life, not just for convenience.
