Boxers and Buddies, part of the Boxer Rescue Fund, is a non-profit dog rescue located in Northern Nevada and serving Nevada and Northern California.Boxer Rescue is a nonprofit organization founded in 2005. Boxers and Buddies provides a safe, humane sanctuary for abandoned Boxers and other breeds who are waiting to be adopted. Our entire organization is run by a dedicated team of volunteers. Our g

roup works for the love of the breed and to see dogs find homes. Our available dogs come from local shelters, from the streets or from owners who turn them in. We are always filled to capacity with scared, confused and very stressed out dogs. They are with us because B&B is their last hope of finding a new life. We are their temporary haven until they are adopted into a loving permanent home. Before they can be adopted, each dog is evaluated for temperament, must be sterilized, microchipped and their shots are updated. B&B has a training program for those dogs who need rehabilitation or have behaviors which need to be modified. B&B stands apart from other rescues by rescuing any Boxer, regardless of age or health. We feel that they are all worthy of a real chance at life. This policy means that we are subject to frequent and expensive veterinarian costs. Medical expenses are only one of the major cost B&B has to pay each year. The cost are endless: food, mortgage, utilities, insurance, shelter fee, and the costs go on and on. Saving lives is not cheap but someone has to do it! It takes over $250,000 each year to keep B&B open. We are constantly seeking funds and support. We need your help. We depend on our donors and our volunteers to keep B&B open to any Boxer in need. We appreciate your compassion by including a rescue Boxer into your life. Many of you have been following Panini's journey, and today we finally get to share the happiest update.

Panini came to Boxers & Buddies with several other adult dogs rescued from an unhoused encampment. Every one of them was terrified and completely shut down. Panini was no exception. It took weeks before she trusted her first foster enough to even make eye contact, and even longer before she felt safe enough to curl up beside her. We never rushed her. We simply gave her the time and space she needed because we knew she would come around when she was ready.

Then, shortly after her spay surgery, Panini experienced a series of seizures. We have no way of knowing if this had ever happened before she came into our care, but we acted immediately, got her the medical attention she needed, and started her on seizure medication.

Around that time, one of our foster families had recently lost a beloved hospice foster and was ready to open their hearts again. They volunteered to foster Panini, and we knew she would blossom in their home.

She did exactly that.

She continued building her confidence, discovered just how wonderful snuggles could be, and completely worked her way into their hearts.

For months, they searched for the perfect family for Panini. Unfortunately, her seizure history made it difficult for adopters to look past her medical needs. Then one day they realized something they hadn't expected...

Panini wasn't waiting for her forever home.

She was already in it.

Today, they officially made her part of their family, and we couldn't be happier.

As if that wasn't enough to celebrate, Panini's new Auntie also officially adopted sweet Poldi! Two deserving dogs found exactly where they were always meant to be.

There are hard days in rescue. Days that test your heart and make you question if you're doing enough. But then there are days like today. Days that remind us why we keep showing up.
A heartfelt thank you to Panini's first foster for giving a frightened little dog the patience and love she needed to learn that people could be trusted. And, thank you to Kristen Floyd and Katelyn for opening your hearts once again and realizing that sometimes the dog you're fostering is already home. And thank you to Ashley for giving Poldi the happy ending he deserved.

These are the stories that make every hard day worth it. ❤️

🌙 Moonshadow & St******nt are ready for adoption! 💜

These 9-week-old German Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog mix sisters are ready to find their forever homes! While they're being fostered together, they will be adopted separately so each can build a lifelong bond with her own family.

German Shepherds are known for their intelligence and loyalty, while Australian Cattle Dogs are energetic, eager to learn, and love having a job to do. These girls will thrive with families committed to training, enrichment, and adventure.

💜 St******nt is the sweet, gentle one. She loves belly rubs, giving kisses, and being close to her people. She's dog, cat, and kid friendly, already knows sit, touch, and kennel up, and is working on down, crate training, and potty training. She has a medium energy level and will flourish with patience, routine, and positive reinforcement.

🌙 Moonshadow is the confident, playful explorer. She's always ready for fun, loves treats, scratches, and making new friends. She's dog, cat, and kid friendly, knows sit, touch, and kennel up, and is also working on down, crate training, and potty training. She'd love an active family that enjoys training and including her in everyday adventures.

🎉 Congratulations to Cubchoo! 🎉

Cubchoo's journey with us began when he and his littermates arrived at just 5 weeks old. From the very beginning, they stole hearts everywhere they went. In fact, even their experienced foster said they were some of the sweetest puppies she has ever fostered!

We're so excited to share that Cubchoo has finally wiggled his way into his forever home, where he'll be loved and spoiled just as he deserves. ❤️

But the story isn't quite over for this adorable litter. Cubchoo's brother, Teddiursa, is still waiting for his perfect family. This fluffy little guy is ready to bring just as much love, fun, and puppy snuggles to a lucky home.

🎉 Special shout out to Sigrid! 🎉

Today, we're celebrating this sweet mama finally getting the life she deserves. ❤️

When we first met Sigrid, she was scared and sitting in a shelter with her three very young puppies. Thanks to an amazing foster family who stepped up, Sigrid and her babies were given a safe place to land, where they could decompress, heal, and prepare for brighter days ahead.

Her puppies have grown, and now it's Sigrid's turn.

We're thrilled to announce that Sigrid has found her forever home and can finally enjoy life as a beloved family member instead of worrying about where she and her babies will sleep. No more shelter, no more uncertainty, just love, comfort, and a future filled with happiness.

🎉 Happy Tails: Valkyrie 🎉

Yesterday was a day worth celebrating! After 221 days in foster care, Valkyrie officially went home with her forever family. ❤️

Valkyrie came to us as an owner surrender, and it was clear she hadn't received the care, socialization, or guidance she needed. She faced the world with uncertainty, but thanks to the dedication and patience of her foster family, she slowly learned to trust, gained confidence, and began to shine.

Now, Valkyrie is starting an incredible new chapter. She gets to spend her days exploring acres and acres of land and enjoying life with her new canine brother by her side.

Adoptions like this remind us why we never give up on the dogs who need a little extra time. Every dog deserves a chance, and seeing a dog like Valkyrie find the perfect home makes all the challenges worthwhile.

🐾 Congratulations to Bailey! 🐾

This sweet boy snuggled his way right into his new home, and we couldn't be happier for him. We know he's headed for a life filled with love, comfort, and plenty of cuddles.

We're especially excited because we'll still get to see Bailey from time to time. His new owner is part of the amazing team at Lone Mountain Veterinary Hospital, our favorite veterinary hospitals in Carson City!

Just look at those eyes. Colleen is still searching for her family and honestly, we have a feeling she won't have to wait long.

This sweet 11 week old German Shepherd mix has mastered the art of melting hearts with a single look. Her foster mom says Colleen's favorite place in the world is wherever everybody else is. Cooking dinner? She's there. Watching TV? She's there. Folding laundry? Yep, she's there too.

She loves being part of the family and happily follows her people around just to be included. Colleen also gets along great with the resident dog and is soaking up all the fun that puppyhood has to offer.

She's the kind of puppy who makes a house feel a little warmer and a couch feel a little cozier.

Moku still needs a foster! The other 2 have commitment!

🚨 URGENT FOSTERS NEEDED 🚨

These are the list of dogs that are needing rescue since Nevada Humane Society has declined to pull.

Right now, we know very little about them. We don't know if they are good with cats, other dogs, or people. We don't know if they're potty trained. We don't know their history.

What we do know is this: This isn't their fault.

They deserve the chance to be seen for who they are in a safe home instead of being in a shelter.

🎉 Happy 2nd Birthday to the Bucket Pups! 🎉

Many of you may remember this unforgettable litter, lovingly nicknamed the Bucket Pups. We were all shocked when their DNA results came back showing they were 100% Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless Dogs).

"But wait..." we all said. "They have HAIR!" This is likely why they were dumped.

It turns out that Xolos actually come in two varieties: hairless and coated. The coated variety is much less common, but it's completely normal and still 100% Xolo! So yes, these fluffy little weirdos really are purebred Mexican Hairless Dogs. Genetics likes to keep us humble.

Today these pups are celebrating their second birthday, and we know they're out there living their very best lives, keeping their families laughing and reminding everyone that sometimes the most unexpected dogs leave the biggest paw prints on our hearts.

Here's sweet Tobi, formerly known as Bowser, all grown up and handsome as ever. ❤️
