Sheeba is not giving up on summer! She spent all of Tuesday lounging in the beach chair out in her catio! She also wanted to share a new wishlist ARC created through Petfinder Feeding Partners and Purina! These items are specialty items that go towards many of our special needs kitties. If you would like to help Sheeba and her friends out, please consider purchasing from our wishlist, and please SHARE!

This year ARC has taken in an overwhelming amount of kittens and mommas who have given birth. Jarvis is one of our recent intakes, at just a day old, his momma who was a kitten herself, wasnt able to produce any milk. Jarvis and his 4 siblings were definitely off to a hard start in life. Sadly Jarvis' sibling passed within a week and little Javis looked to be following in their fate. Jarvis was tube fed for 3 and a half weeks until he started to take a ni**le on his own. Today, Javis is 1 month old and only weighs 8 ounces. He is slowly putting on weight, still on the bottle but definitely has made a huge improvement. He has quite a ways to go but he is now showing what a big boy he has become. Today he was introduced to toys and he is a pro!

With that being said, there are still currently 60+ kittens in our wonderful care! That is a BUNCH of kitten food. We are currently on our last box of Fancy Feast wet Kitten food, which is critical for their development. We know we ask a lot from our supporters, and we are grateful for everything you all do for us! And so we ask, if you are able to, please donate! We have an Amazon wishlist list, or you can donate directly to the shelter. Please go to our website site, animalrefugecenter.org for more donation options and links.

We can't do any of this without you!

Another 10 kitties were spayed/neutered yesterday at Friends of Butler County Animals Spay-Neuter Clinic! Big thanks to our volunteers who made the trip and helped at the clinic to be sure these kitties are fully vetted now (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for FIV and feline leukemia, and microchipped).

As we move into Halloween season: THIS admin has dealt with numerous incomprehensible stupid Evangelical comments on THIS page about black cats being minions of Satan as well as utter nonsense in my workday life selling black cat plush toys. Thankfully the customers in line behind them told the nuts to shut up and move on... about Black Cats. I own several Black Cats, and their hearts are so deep, and so full of love. Mine are emotional support pets who follow me EVERYWHERE. Yes, even in the bathroom. AND scream at us morning and evening for feeding time. The Ancient Egyptians once worshipped cats as gods, ESPECIALLY black cats, and the cats NEVER forgot this.

"When humans fail them, even Death becomes kinder - offering the love and warmth that should have been given in life. Every abandoned soul deserves gentle hands, even if they come at the very end."

💐Art: Jenny-Jinya

— This powerful art by reminds us that pets who are neglected or abandoned by their owners often face tragic ends. The artwork personifies Death as a compassionate caretaker who embraces these innocent souls with the tenderness they were denied in life. It's a heartbreaking commentary on pet abandonment - showing that even in death, these loyal companions finally find the love they always deserved.
