Little leaning bunny of Pisa is thriving! Her next vet appointment is January 12! She will also be getting spayed that day! Hop(fully) she will steal the heart of a wonderful bun bun family and get her happily ever after where they adore and cherish her wonky ways! She’s toooo cute!

Spay day for this little lady! She terrific and is back home resting. I haven’t had a moment to introduce her formally (life has been turned up a notch since the storm & I’ve been super sick) but say hello!! She’s literally Raisin 2.0 and for those long time supporters of Panda Paws Rescue, you will recall my ever so sweet nightmare Pug, Raisin - the original. Well, this girl could be her clone! What would you name her?

Unfortunately, our little Maltese baby passed away peacefully. He had leaky diarrhea the whole time, despite benebac and an electrolyte GI reset. He wasn’t gaining constant weight despite taking feedings wonderfully. There wasn't a lot of "rile" in him from the get-go. Still, we tried. He was given the best of the best for the few days he had but this body for him just wasn't meant to be.

The little guy weighs in today at 5.38oz! He does NOT have a cleft as previously suspected by his breeder due to him not latching on momma. He is a little on the scrawny side and he has some diarrhea, but he is only two days of age & he's in the best hands with our super foster dad, Daniel! Name suggestions?

(He is a Maltese for those who missed the last message)

Everyone at Panda Paws Rescue home base is safe and sound. We lost our entire fence in this crazy weather (Hi Di Ho, Neighbors) but the power is still on and the animals are all inside safe of course. We will be putting a pause on intake for a moment while we figure out the next steps to put in a whole new fence, otherwise the animals can’t be safely let out.

Leashed potty times for all the fosters it shall be!

Hello little new kid on the block! This little guy is two days old with a cleft palate. He’s a Maltese and 1/2 brother to our last little cleft Maltese girly, Lambchop. Yes education has been tackled and no we won’t tolerate negativity. Panda Paws Rescue is here to help and there is enough gloom in the world right now so let’s just celebrate that he’s alive, taking feeds well so far and manifest positivity for him and his success!

Pisa Dweebie 67 is doing well! She is eating and drinking wonderfully! I have started her on another treatment regimen for e. Cuninuli even though she was treated last month to be proactive. She does have nystagmus in her left eye, which is the eye that she tilts towards the ground. Her right eye does not have any nice diagnose, and both eyes are healthy. Pisa truly is a happy go lucky bunny… She loves roaming around the house and is happy as can be in her playpen when we can’t watch her. PD67 loves to snuggle for movie time too! This cute little bunny has done great with cowboy and all of his antics as well as my two-year-old granddaughter. Granted, both of them are very gentle and give her space.

She still has some vetting to be done before she can officially be adopted, but she is accepting applications on pir website at www.pandapawsrescue.org now. She is located in Southwest Washington.

Welcome to camp Panda Paws Rescue newest little one! She is a young Netherlands Dwarf bun bun and her coloring is known as 'silver marten'. This sweetie pie has a very severe head tilt. She has been dewormed and her ears look great. She does have slight nystagmus in her left eye, which is the eye that folds under toward the ground. Although she has been dewormed, with her symptoms collectively I am leaning (not punny) towards this being related to E. Cunicoli which is a parasite found in rabbits. It is highly contagious to other rabbits and it also is considered zoonotic, meaning it *can* transfer to humans or other animals like dogs for example, HOWEVER, that is extremely rare and typically only would affect others with severely compromised immune systems. Usually it is transferred to dogs/humans via urine and f***s. So we will be ultra careful here per usual. The next step is to run some tests, check in on her kidney function & do a full wellness check. I can say that she is happy, healthy otherwise, eating and drinking, acting normal aside from having her head on not-so-straight. . . . I already have what I am affectionately calling her, but what would you call this super soft fluff button?

I apologize for my delay in addressing our sweet Willow. The older I get, the more I have to saw goodbye, the harder it is to get on social media or even want to talk about it. Sadly, we made the collective family decision to humanely let our Golden Retriever go. Willow was a senior for her breed but overall a health girl her whole life. Over the last two months or so we noticed a gradual change in her, mostly presenting as sadness or depression. Nothing we couldn't snap her out of with food or an adventure. Then around Thanksgiving even our friends who came for dinner noticed she was a bit "distant" and not really "all there".... not her normal self. If very quickly snowballed from there. She had an appointment 4 days after we had to rush her to the ER but it progressed so quickly that she couldn't wait. Even in the ER her systems were rapidly digressing. We called every option for neurology, had three plans in line, but ultimately her momma with the support of myself, our family and the medical staff made the choice to kindly let her free from her body. Her neurological deficit (encephalitis / tumor) was torturing her and it was affecting every system in her body.

Her departure has left a very large hole in our hearts and home. It is very strange adjusting to the new normal without her underfoot, shedding gobs of hair, stealing food, knocking everything over and booping us for loves and affection. We will miss her terribly and I am lucky to have had her in my life for the last 1.5 years of hers. Panda Paws Rescue fosters were blessed to have a perfect girl big sis too that led by 99% perfect example! Rest easy WillaBean, we all love you very much and we will all miss your therapeutic gifts!
