โ๏ธ Beating the Heat This Summer! ๐พ
Summer is in full swing, and our Coastal K9 dogs have found plenty of ways to stay cool. Check out some of their favorite summertime moments! ๐๐ฆ
The heat can be tough, especially here in Southern California. Before heading out, remember that while the air temperature may seem comfortable, pavement and asphalt can become dangerously hot. At just 75ยฐF, asphalt can reach 125ยฐF, hot enough to burn your dog's paw pads.
Here are 5 simple ways to help your dog beat the heat:
๐ง 1. Keep fresh water available
Make sure your dog always has access to cool, clean water.
๐ณ 2. Seek out the shade
Whether you're walking or relaxing outside, shaded areas can make a big difference.
๐
3. Walk during cooler hours
Early mornings and evenings are much safer than the middle of the day.
๐พ 4. Protect those paws
If the pavement is too hot for the back of your hand for 7 seconds, it's too hot for your dog's paws.
๐ง 5. Keep them cool with water or indoor enrichment
A kiddie pool, sprinkler, frozen treats, or a puzzle toy can help your dog stay cool while still having fun.
