Your tax-deductible donations go to support these very deserving animals. Coastal is dedicated to providing new beginnings for homeless German Shepherds who have been abandoned, neglected, abused, relinquished

by their owners or just left at local shelters to await an uncertain future. We are committed to finding loving permanent homes for the Orphaned dogs in our care. Coastal is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization. Our mission is to educate the public about German Shepherds, their lifespan, personality, and activity level, along with overall responsible dog ownership. We also raise awareness of the overpopulation of animals through education, training, spaying, and neutering. We work very hard to match each dog with the adoptive families. All prospective adoptive families must complete an online application followed by a telephone interview and then receive a home visit before a German Shepherd is placed in their forever home.

Cody – Saved in the Nick of Time, Ready for Love 💕

When Cody and his brother Zack ended up in the shelter system, their time was running out fast. Thanks to the support of our amazing community, we were able to rescue them with just hours to spare to give them both the fresh start they deserved.

As you can see, Cody is a handsome boy and looks almost like Zack's twin. Cody has settled in nicely to our ranch routine and is showing us what a truly special dog he is. Big hearted and people loving, he soaks up attention from our Kennel Team and volunteers, and is happy to lean in to you for a few extra pets.

Cody is ready for his forever home, a place where he can feel secure, loved, and part of the family. Could he be your new best friend? ❤️🐶

⏳ From the Final Countdown to a Fresh Start – Meet Zack! 🐾❤️

We don’t know what twists of fate led Zack and his brother Cody into the shelter system, but we do know one heartbreaking truth: their time was almost up. Both boys were on the final countdown, with only hours left before their chances ran out.

Thanks to quick action and incredible supporters, we stepped in just in time to give them the second chance they so deserved.

Since arriving at the Ranch, 3-year-old Zack has been winning hearts left and right. This sweet, affectionate boy loves soaking up attention from our Kennel Team and amazing volunteers. He’s adjusting beautifully to his new surroundings, walks well on a leash, and takes in the world with curious, intelligent eyes.

At the shelter, Zack passed his dog-to-dog test with dogs his size, and once he’s fully settled in, we’ll be introducing him to our Coastal K9 pack to find him the perfect buddy.

Zack’s ready for his new chapter—a forever home filled with love, security, and adventures. Could that be with you? ❤️🐶

We had an incredible time at this year’s Cardiff Dog Days of Summer!

🎉🐶 This beloved annual event brought together the best of the dog-loving community, local vendors, amazing rescues, and, of course, our Coastal K9 crew and alumni! 🐕💙

✨ Paisley is a stunning 7–8-month-old black German Shepherd who’s quickly becoming a favorite here at the Ranch. She’s energetic, playful, and absolutely thrives on human connection. Whether she’s chasing a ball, darting around the play yard, or soaking up attention from our volunteers—Paisley is all heart. 🐶❤️

This year, when one of our partner shelters reached out for help during the post-holiday crisis, we knew we had to act. Even though we’re a small rescue with limited capacity, we made room to save two lives. One of them was Paisley.

🎩 "Chester the Charmer: Floppy Ears, Freckles & Cuddles Galore!" 🐾❤️

Meet Chester — a sweet, snuggly, freckle-faced pup with floppy ears and a heart full of love! 💕 Part of our "C-Puppy Crew," Chester is the definition of charm. His laid-back vibe, soulful eyes, and unique markings (check out those adorable spotted legs!) make him a one-of-a-kind companion.

What makes Chester stand out even more are his unique markings. His legs are sprinkled with spots reminiscent of a cattle dog, giving him a one-of-a-kind look that matches his sweet personality.

On the puppy energy scale, Chester is a bit more laid-back than some of his siblings. He loves to play and join in the fun, but he’s also a snuggler at heart. Chester is also a certified lap dog. He’s happiest curled up with his human friends, soaking up affection and, of course, enjoying a good belly rub.

He enjoys exploring the play yard taking in the new sniffs and smells and searching for new treasures (toys). He also loves romping around and splashing in the water (a favorite activity for this whole litter).

🐾 Big Charlie, Bigger Personality – The Explorer of the Litter! 🌟🦴

Big Charlie is the largest and tallest of the litter, making him easily identifiable among his siblings. With his signature floppy ears and playful spirit, Charlie is always up for fun, whether he’s being chased or doing the chasing.

Charlie is ready for his next adventure and would thrive with a family that can match his energy and love for discovery, and also provide the structure and leadership for him to grow into a well-mannered adult GSD.D..s checking out every corner of the play yards, following his nose from scent to scent, playing with toys, and, just like the rest of the crew, splashing around in the kiddie pool.

🐾 Smallest Sibling, Biggest Heart – Meet Cali! 💖🐶

Sweet Cali is the smallest of our new litter of puppies. She weighed just 25 pounds when she arrived at the Ranch. We quickly got to work making sure she received the nutrition and care she needed, and she’s already putting on some much-needed weight.

Don’t let her size fool you, Cali keeps up with her siblings just fine! She’s right there in the middle of the action, running, wrestling, and racing to see who can make it first into the kiddie pool with the rest of the crew.

Cali can be a little shy at first, but it only takes a moment for her to warm up. Once she knows you, she’s all about the cuddles and belly rubs.

Like her littermates, Cali is alert, curious, and eager to explore the world around her. She’ll thrive in a home that offers structure, guidance, and lots of opportunities for both mental and physical enrichment.

These 5-month-old beautiful German Shepherds are full of personality and playful charm. Each one has a unique coat and temperament, but all share the same fun-loving, curious spirit.

From our Golden Shepherd litter, sweet Gidget is the last of her siblings waiting for a home. She’s fast, affectionate, and ready to fill your world with joy and zoomies.

Not part of the puppy litters, but at 7 months, Bella is a sweet, playful girl who was left behind when her family moved, but she’s thriving in her foster home. Bella adores other dogs and would love an active home with a canine buddy and people who will help her polish her manners (she still thinks she’s a lap-sized puppy!). Social, energetic, and full of love.

Meet Sweet Cassie of the "C" Puppies Crew

Cassie can still be a bit nervous around new people, but with a little time and patience, she begins to realize, “Hey, these humans are actually pretty nice!” and that’s when her sweet, gentle nature starts to shine.

Cassie has a more mellow energy overall, much like her brother Chester, though of course, mellow still means playful when you’re a puppy! She gains confidence from being around her littermates and would thrive in a home with another friendly dog to guide her, play with her, and help her learn the ropes of dog life in a new home.
