Come out to our adoption event today at Petsmart in Fairfield from 11a-2p!
No, your eyes arenβt deceiving you!
We have tortie and calicos galore! ππββ¬
Come on down this Saturday to meet and maybe take home a kitten or two π€π§‘
Fun fact! Torties and calicos are exclusively female. This is due to the orange gene sitting on the X chromosome and the black gene also sitting on the X chromosome. Hence XX=calico or tortie. The only way to have a male calico or tortie is to have a genetic mutation of XXY which occurs roughly 1 to every 3000 male cats or for an embryo to fuse together making a chimera.
Pretty cool if I do say so myself.
If you're unable to adopt we also accept volunteers, fosters, donations, likes and shares π½
