Dr. Shannon De Leon is excited to join the Redwood Veterinary Hospital team and can't wait to meet the wonderful pets and people that make up the community.
She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2025 before completing a specialty internship in avian and exotic animal medicine this past year. Whether she's caring for a playful puppy, a curious cockatiel, charismatic rabbit, or anything in between Dr. De Leon loves the opportunity to help animals of all shapes, sizes, and species live their healthiest lives.
While she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, Dr. De Leon has a special passion for small animal medicine, including birds and exotic companion animals. She believes the best veterinary care is a team effort and enjoys building lasting relationships with pet owners to create personalized care plans that keep their companions happy and healthy through every stage of life.
When she's not at the hospital, Dr. De Leon shares a home with her little poodle mix, two cats, two blue and gold macaws, and a Holland Lop rabbit, so she understands firsthand that every pet has its own unique personality.
Dr. De Leon is thrilled to be part of the Redwood Veterinary Hospital family and looks forward to getting to know you and your furry, feathered, and scaled family members!
